LABOUM Hits No. 1 On Realtime Music Chart With 2016 Song “Journey To Atlantis” + Members React​

Over five years after its release, LABOUM’s 2016 track “Journey to Atlantis” has soared to the top of Korea’s realtime music charts!

On the May 8 episode of MBC’s variety show “How Do You Play?”, Yoo Jae Suk asked his new project group MSG Wannabe to sing LABOUM’s “Journey to Atlantis,” referring to it as “a song that I personally really like.”

Shortly afterwards, “Journey to Atlantis”—which had already started climbing back up domestic music charts earlier this year—began rapidly rising on Korea’s realtime music charts. By 4 p.m. KST on May 9, the song had hit No. 1 on Bugs and was Melon’s No. 1 most popular keyword of the day, and it later reached No. 7 on Genie.

Later that evening, LABOUM’s Solbin took to Instagram Stories to share her excitement about the song’s new achievement. Sharing a screenshot of “Journey to Atlantis” at No. 1 on Bugs and No. 9 on Genie, she wrote, “This isn’t a dream, right?…”

Yujeong also posted a screenshot of “Journey to Atlantis” at No. 1 and wrote, “Wow… even if it ends up just being for a brief moment, I’m really happy… I’m filled with nothing but gratitude…”

On May 9 KST, the Play M girl group commemorated 50 million YouTube views on the music video for their latest single "After School" by releasing a 'gym pants version' dance video where the members are seen performing the song's original choreography in brightly colored sweatpants.

4-member girl group Rumble.G to debut next month with the first Burmese K-pop idol!​

Another girl group has announced their debut and they are gaining attention for having the first Burmese idol!

Rumble.G is a 4-member girl group from WinnerZone Entertainment who announced their debut for next month in June 2021. The members consist of Gayun, Baleum, Ian, and Didi.

Gayun is the subvocal and main dancer. She has been singing and dancing since she was in 6th grade and has 'multiple broadcasting experiences.'

Baleum is the main vocal and main rapper. She has been dancing and singing since she was a child and is also able to play instruments and compose music.

Ian is the main vocal and sub rapper. She has a 'husky voice' and is able to play various instruments such as guitar, drums, piano, and more.

Didi is the leader, main vocal, and main rapper. She went to university for film and has previously been active in the entertainment industry. She is Burmese-Korean and fluent in English, Korean, and Burmese. She is also learning Chinese and ASL (American Sign Language)! When she debuts she will be the first-ever Burmese K-pop idol!

Lee Hyori and Lee Sang Soon talk about their experience bidding farewell to pet dog Soonshim​

On the May 9th episode of SBS's 'Animal Farm', the couple talked about their final moments with their late dog Soonshim that passed away last December. Soonshim was rescued by Lee Hyori at 'Princess Pyeonggang Animal Shelter' back in 2010.

In the episode, Lee Hyori shared that they took videos of her and Soonshim during their final days together.

"When I first heard that treatment would be difficult for Soonshim, I was crying my eyes out. When you watch those videos [of me and Soonshim], it appears as if I am the one who is ill," said Lee Hyori.

She continued, "They say that pets, when they are about to pass away, are worried about their own pain but are also worried about how their owners would feel."

Her husband Lee Sang Soon also shared, "We tried our best to stay by her side until the end, as we always have."

In tears, Lee Hyori added that Soonshim did not even give a whimper when when in pain.

Mimi unable to participate in Oh My Girl's comeback showcase for medical reasons​

WM Entertainment has announced why Oh My Girl member Mimi did not attend the group's comeback showcase, which was held on May 10 at 4 PM KST.

The agency took to Oh My Girl's official social media to announce that Mimi is currently resting after experiencing sudden dizziness and vomiting earlier that morning. They asked for understanding as the other six members appeared at the showcase without her, adding that they will continue to support their artist's health and recovery. The statement did not mention whether or not any further schedules will be affected.
