You should go for at least 2666MHz RAM. Not sure about ASRock because I don't find many review on this, but Gigabyte should be able to reach that. If Gigabyte can fix their firmware, you might even be able to overclock to 3000/3200MHz. You are getting a relatively high performance CPU and GPU. RAM speed should also be good in order to get the best performance out of the build.

Gigabyte design layout not as good as mentioned above. Get the Asrock one but the B350 variant. Just my two cents.

I put cable routing and component socket layout in mind as you're building ITX form factor and you don't have much cable length and management space to play with.

Second this. I broke the USB3 header of my gigabyte H270 mITX board. For some reason, they seems to love putting the USB3 header right smack in the middle. Was installing an aftermarket CPU blower, accidentally yanked on the cable and the pins broke. I always felt that the bulky USB3 cable from the case seems a bit too thick for the puny usb3 header to support.

The sata cables are a pain to install too. The ports are packed too close to other parts of the board.

I bought gigabyte becos there was not any other H270 mITX during the time I built the rig.

Now that there are more H270 mITX boards on the market, Asus board seems quite well designed. The IO headers are situated on the side of the board. Making it easier to access and less chance it interfer with the rest of your hardware. For the additional tens of dollars, it is worth it

Actually I couldnt find the Asrock B350 one anywhere locally, only saw the X370 on newegg. Might have to get the gigabyte one if really cant find.

Been looking at monitors too, alot of the cheaper one comes with Freesync, not sure if I should wait for the AMD vega series to be out.

Hello guys, I am looking at getting a ryzen mini ITX build with a budget of 1K (exclude monitor) to do some gaming and light overclocking.

I have a GTX 760 currently so is it recommended for me to remain using it or upgrade to a better gfx card ?

CASE: Thermaltake Core V1 $79
MOBO+CPU: Gigabyte AB350N Gaming WIFI + Ryzen 5 1600 $503
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHz 16GB Kit $225
PSU: Superflower Leadex Silver 650W $129
SSD: PNY CS1311b 128GB $89
HDD: WD Blue 1TB $72
GPU: *reuse*
OS: Windows 10 Home $12 via Carousell

TOTAL: $1105

Prices quoted from PC Themes or otherwise stated.

Prices above are SRP and it's not subjected to any kind of discount yet.

Slightly over budget but can't be helped.. You can try source ssd, hdd and ram online from Amazon or Newegg for cheaper price. Then after shop discount should fit your bill nicely.

messaged some sellers on carousell and they are actually SLS shops (forgot the name). but it was quoted with local warranty, just not sure why pc themes or fuwell dont carry it.
With local warranty but from the local distro or they just imported it themselves?

Also, did you see the X370 or B350 version?

How's your build coming along? I'm also in the midst of building my own pc for the first time and it will be a Ryzen.

The hard part is finding the best price.

Hi all, finally hooted the vega 56 from newegg last week, need some advice on PSU and cooling as I read that it is power hungry. Build as follows:

Asrock Fatal1ty ITX B350 mobo + Ryzen 5 1600
Sapphire Vega 56 8gb GPU
Corsair Vengence 3000mhz 2 x 8gb
Samsung Evo 850 250gb SSD
Toshiba 7200rpm 2TB
Phanteks Evolv Shift - is this too small? Will the cooling be enough?
PSU - read that need 750W, what SFX 750W is good?
Cooling - do I need this? Not intending to OC anything.

Thanks in advance, quite new to new but tried to read as much as I can.

750W is more than enough. What's your budget for PSU? SFX 750 sounds good.

You can OC the R5 1600 to 3.7-3.8 GHz on pretty low voltages (<1.3 Vcore) very easily and safely, and temps will still be well within spec of the stock cooler. Not OCing the non-X versions is wasting quite a bit of performance which comes at virtually no extra cost.
