After owning some cases, settled for the leather case, slimmer than most plastic cases, good grip on the leather and leather seems to be able to absorb shock better than hard plastics.

Its supposed to, it will also patina from the oils from our hands, it gives the leather character. A scratch on a plastic case on the other hand, is often viewed as a flaw, but not for leather.

Anyway for the S23 ultra, better to go for samsung's official leather case, because the bellyroy case has the top and bottom covered in plastic instead of leather.

My Elago case just came today together with the Ringke Fusion Bumper.

Really love the Fusion Bumper. It's very lightweight (lighter than Ultra Hybrid) yet protective. The sides are sturdier than the regular Fusion and really nice to hold in the hand. My favourite case now.

Elago is a bit heavy, but the colourway is attractive too

Leather is porous and is textured, better grip than my spigen ultra hybrid. If want even better grip need to choose silicon case. I have used before spigen liquid air on another phone, its also very grippy with textured material.

currently using Spigen Hybrid case, purchased the S23 ultra leather green and camel case. The leather case seem much nicer to use and hold. I am sure it can still protect from drop height from pockets.

Maybe weathered leather. But I tried the leather case in store it's actually quite slippery, and it's the display set touched by many already.

Switched my screen protector from OKONZ to whitestone dome.

Fingerprint detection speed and accuracy is night and day. When using OKONZ, I had to wait 1 to 2 seconds before phone auto unlock and that is after I register each finger twice.

With WSD, unlocking time is close to instant. Speed wise, it feels about the same as when I don't have any screen protector installed.

I did not even have to re-register my fingerprint after installing WSD. Unlocking works with the single fingerprint registered when I was testing out the unlocking speed without any SP installed.

My OKONZ screen protector was installed by the seller. I bought the WSD from amazon US ($50 USD with shipping for 2 sets) and installed it myself after watching the installation video on youtube. The installation process was super smooth.

To add on, also notice that with WSD, I do not have to press very hard for in order for my fingerprint to be read.

Can lightly tap and release on the sensor and the phone will be unlocked. Previously with OKONZ, the phone will ask me to press longer.

X-post my OKONZ vs WSD feedback. TLDR is that WSD is worth 2x the price.

Also WSD have better compatibility with Spigen cases compared to OKONZ. Switched from OKONZ to WSD because the Ultra Hybrid was causing the slide of the OKONZ sp to bubble/lift.

I used WSD before and it cracked from a minor drop onto hard plastic surface.

So the value is not really there as it's not that durable at all. I had a UV glass replacement from taobao recommended by other forumers and it cost like 1/10 of the price and had slightly better side coverage without the cutout for the selfie cam which I preferred. Touch quality wise no difference from WSD.

But fit with cases like you mentioned also another issue but got so many brands to choose from should be no problem.

How is the fingerprint detection speed with the taobao UV glass? Can KIV for when both of my WSD crack. For me the cost is justifiable for the fingerprint detection speed and accuracy.

Agree with you, one cons for WSD is the cutout for the selfie camera. I just realize got this rainbow effect around the selfie camera when the surrounding background is bright.
