I would like to noe too. I spoke to a booth selling laptop screen protectors but I was glad the promoter told me the screen protector was customised for iMacs which have a different dimension from normal laptops.

But actually I prefer not to use a screen protector cuz the glossy panel is very beautiful.

endriago, the pic I posted, has the 3-pin plug (ours) but the connector on the right is the tripod config. This part connects the power cable to the laptop brick. This type of connector not easy to find. And the wall socket end provided from the US will be the US pin configuration. So u have two options, (1) buy a plug convertor or (2) change the head.

US 3-pin is not the same as SG 3-pin. The pin shapes aren't the same.

And Melb will be great, except during summer (Nov-Mar) where temps can go as high as 45-48C.

i hate glossy..it keeps reflecting the sunlight and all you can see in daylight is nothing but whitescreen...
this happens to my 6500t which is going to be replaced...sooner or later...:s22:

I prefer glossy screens myself. I don't use notebooks in sunlight nearly as frequently as in an office or home environment.

I've got four notebooks for home and offie, two using matt and the other two using glossy screens - and I far prefer the glossy ones LOL.

I'd choose a glossy screen for my next Sager for certain.

More and more ppl are getting Sager, strangely some kinda Sager goldrush... anyway, hope to see more useful screenshots like benchmarks. Already have all the multi-angle Sager laptop screenshots I can take :D

Yeah. Tho I think some mention it as they are students and likely carry them to school and use them in pubilc places where sunlight can be a problem. Not me tho...

Hmm you've got a point there.

In any case; I'm trying the compare the prices offered by Mucro/Zepto vs Cubehubs for the 8662, and the former looks real attractive if one doesn't need the pixel warranty or longer warranty period. It seems cheaper by around $50 or so for the configuration I want.

If you check our frontpage we're also offering the same warranty as our competitor as long as you quote what is the competitor's and make that order. We can usually offer at 20 or so less.
We've been figuring out how he's been offering this "no dead pixel insurance" on all the laptops he's been selling. So we'll just play along and use the same "method" to offer this insurance. On top of this, we can also replace Panels if there really is a dead pixel on an LCD.

We'll just play along with whatever gimmick is offered, although the truth is, this definitely is not sustainable.

PRICE WAR!!! :s16:  :s12:

BTW - since you're here, could I check on a configuration option. The 2X Blu-ray reader / 8X Super Multi Combo - is this drive capable of writing to DVDRs, or is it read-only?

Just wanted to be sure. Thanks.

Yes it "should" be capable of writing. If not, we can get one that does. These days most bluray drives are DVD write capable anyway.

A Blu-Ray/DVD Super Multi combo means it can only read Blu-Ray. It will be able to write to DVDs and CDs.

It's a repeat of the DVD/CD-RW combo (reads DVD, read/writes CD) which is present in most computers a few years back.
