Are Sager hareware durable? Compare to Asus products?
Are they able to last 4-5 years at least?

Thanks!

Well, if you would open up a sager notebook, you will see that the whole internal is completely covered with copper, the plastic is wrapped on top of the copper. For Asus, it's just plastic, so you can decide for yourself.

Ok, just a correction now that I realised something. Good quality doesn't apply to all Sager notebooks, only those that are rebranded Clevos, AKA those high end Sager notebooks, the lower end Sager notebooks are rebranded Compals, which kind of suck.

Hey, whats the normal temperatures for sager laptops? My N2098 is hovering around 41 degrees during normal operation...when I am playing L4D2 it can hit 70-80+ degrees....

Moreover, it will hang after playing for a while...this applies to almost all games.I sent it for re-service(IT TOOK ALMOST A MONTH) but all they did was to replace my graphics card which didn't solve the problem at all. Now my laptop is super duper slow and I did all the necessary things(removing startup programmes, defragmentating)...Now I am seriously disappointed with Sager Laptops.

NP2098 is a compal, not a clevo, a different OEM which doesn't have a lot of good reviews. Anyways, 70-80C is actually quite OK during runtime.

Sad, I'm now screwed again, trying to fix things that are not broken. Wanted to replace the thermal compound on the GPU in my 8690 yesterday, accidentally ripped off the thermal pad, after putting back, the temperature at idle became 60-70, and in light 3D game go up to 80-90, and I don't even dare to try running intensive 3D applications now. Called mucro for replacement thermal pads and since on the way, change the thermal compound to ICD 7, but the thermal pads have to wait for shipment from Sager = more waiting...

It uses ATI Mobility Raedon HD 4650 with Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 2.80ghz. I cannot even play any games now...it will just crash soon after starting the game! What a piece of crap I spent 2k on...
