The fact that you're a student has nothing to do with it.

The fact is that there's a backlog of orders.

Why? There were some early models with the Sandy Bridge issue that had to be re-issued, plus all the others who ordered after the recall was announced.

This means there's a backlog of more than a month at Sager. While they're usually pretty fast, what do you expect when there's such a backlog?

Not to trivialise your concern, but 4 weeks isn't that long to wait when you think about the possible backlog.

I see, I just wanted to know the reason why my laptop was being delayed, since when I first ordered they told me I should be able to get it in 21 business days.

I agree that 4 weeks isn't that long now, I can wait for at most a couple of weeks. But not too long since I need to go to poly, that's why I am worried.

I ordered my Sager NP5160 from sgcubehub on 6th March, and paid the deposit (w/ NETS) on 9th March. Recently I called and checked on my order (past 21 business days already!) and my order still haven't been shipped yet. What should I do?

Dang. When I first ordered the laptop, I was told that it would be ready by early April. I hope I can get through polytechnic without the laptop for awhile. :/

They said 2 weeks is as good as never ask. When I first went to ordered, they told me 2 weeks. 2 weeks later, they told me 2 weeks. Now is 3 weeks later, and I am going to call them to see if they will still say 2 weeks.

I would say nothing to do with SGCubeHub on the delay. Why would they want to delay as you not paid the full amount yet. I think any dealers would prefer quick transactions. Be it SGCubeHub or MucroAsia, if the source is the delay, both will get the delay in shipments as well.

If really not happy, see if you can cancel your order and get back the deposits and change to another brand that's readily available?

No, I don't think they are delaying on purpose. However, I feel that they should have given a long estimated arrival time, rather than give a short one and then extend it due to delays.

Yep, when i ordered i was also told that it'll be ready by early april, but it's already mid april and it's not here yet. School's gonna start on monday and hopefully i can get it before school starts =/. Which poly are you in nways ?

I am now praying very hard that my laptop will reach Singapore before 25th April.. Honestly, I can't understand why my laptop has not shipped yet. According to a person on NBR who ordered his laptop on the same day as me, he received his laptop weeks ago. And SGcubehubs say that they take 3 days to ship the laptop over.

I don't want to go through my first poly computer lesson without the neccesary materials..

finally got my 8170 from cubehub on Thursday

installed the latest 270.61 drivers for 485m(yes nvidia finally had update for it!)

installed Rift, starcraft, civilization and ran all max setting, very smooth! Rift especially was running around 45+fps and the 270.61 specifically had a 'improve rift' performance. too bad I quit that game liao.

Windows performance rating was 7.5, and the system took about 25seconds from boot to firefox. love the SSD as well! keyboard is very nice, not sure why some ang mohs complained about flex. Mouse touchpad was also nice and responsive.

though was pretty disappointed at the screen, I mean my 3+year old acer aspire 8950 had much better screen and blacks + viewing angle...sheesh(hdmi out to second display solves it i guess lol). But everything else is top notch here.

anyways, I saw the other thread flaming cubehub on delivery times. well, the backlog and 485m delayed(due to japan(?)) from what i read is a main cause of problem, I think no need to go ape-sheet since the final delivery is that of a very CAPABLE system! also thanks cubehub for my constant bickering of changing my components that they were flexible on that. what to do, sg is small market, everything from toilet paper to water is imported lol. give and take, give and take.

anyone knows what the mucro asia sager laptop's reserved 100mb harddisk space for "system" for?

What does it contain? is it safe to delete it and reallocate the 100mb space for my own use?
