Finally ordered the 8170 last night. Cannot wait for it to arrive.

i also want to get it.. but i heard next refresh will have backlit keyboard so i keep holding back since not urgent...

I see. I've wanted to get the g74sx but sager is upgradable. Backlit keyboard is gd to have but not necessary in my case. Since my asus g1 laptop gfx faulty, i have to get one urgently. Hope to get it by earliest next friday.

Hi everyone whos waiting for Cubehub, have another nice watting day!! Its nearly 5 weeks for me already. Cubehub said they will add some accessories as apologize. Still, i feel like dying

I just called them also, they said they're having some problems with UPS, shipments for this week and last week pushed to next week (possibly?)

I guess I should ask for some accessories too

backlit keyboard is a confirm release for next gen sager/clevo laptops.. however since it is still within NDA period, distributors cannot give a definite confirmation but they keep dropping hints that it is there in the next release.. can check in at notebookreview.com to take a look...

im waiting till then since im in no hurry and diablo 3 isnt out anytime soon..

ya... Thailand flood causing hdd to shoot up.. hopefully when the new laptop release price already go back to normal.. anyway, the new laptops are suppose to be out mid of next year so still got long time to wait for it to normalize back to cheaper price...

i went expo yesterday, saw the asus g54 gaming laptop.. 2.9k, 1TB ssd, 17.3 inch screen and gtx 560m 3gb ram version..

1tb ssd, dunno real or print wrong.. wth...

if i did not see wrong, Asus selling at cheaper price + is 1TB SSD...

1TB SSD do not exist yet though, unless they are talking about those SSD+HDD in one drive.

And having two HDDs is more for long-term upgrade options; can put one SSD and another HDD for example

anyway, wouldt get either coz exam tmr and today last day liao lol...

just have to wait for sager refresh and pray hard backlit keyboard arrives AND prices stay relatively fairly the same or else i gg coz totally no extra money if it becomes too expensive... hope thailand flood subside asap...

Heh, I also having exams now. And backlit keyboards are confirmed for the next refresh. As for prices... I suggest you save up even more bah; if prices go back to normal you can use the surplus to do more upgrades.
