At Ueno Park now, i would say it's more than 80% bloom. Today, it already look amazing. Tmr, may be even better. Weather forecast is windy on thurs and rain from friday onwards.

Reaching Osaka/Himeji on 6 Apr, and Kyoto on 7 Apr.
Praying that the Sakura will reach full bloom by then...

(yes there are some trees that are in full bloom in Kyoto/Osaka, but they are the exception... or else they are not the somei yoshino variety...)

Pity.
This is the best time together with autumn leaves.
Other tourism spots are the same year in & out.

Conflicting work schedules, but it's okay, I'm not going there just purely to see Sakura trees anyway :s13:

Sakura is full bloom in Kyoto since Friday. The weather has been wet and very windy over the past few days, and will continue till Tuesday. The sakuras will probably not last another week.

juz back from japan - report

Tokyo - 3.25/4 bloom ba, since its colder in Tokyo this time round. Cherry blossom not yet peak, ueno area.

Kyoto - 4/4 full bloom ard the Philosopher’s Walk + Gion area *BEST*

Osaka - 3.5/4 bloom. Not bad as well. Area around Osaka Castle.

This time round due to colder weather, the cherry blossom was delay abit.

Overall felt that Kyoto got the best view for cherry blossom.
