have you read the rooting thread? if you have atleast the H1 firmware, rooted then overclocked with the memoryapp you phone will be as fast as desire, n1 on 2.1.

With no official 2.2 update the only upgrade we can hope to get is the release of the beam source code by Samsung then we can get some custom roms going.

haha answered too fast! too bad it's jerky playing MKV cuz it was so cool on the SGS.

do you know if it plays mp4 720p without issues? since the camera records in 720 mp4 then i guess it should playback mp4 720p no prob? i have some tv shows that would be great if it could be projected haha

new stock should already preloaded with latest firmware-JI1 firmware.

I've updated to JH-1 firmware. The scrolling is much faster than before.

Sorry to hear no 2.2. for Froyo.

Samsung beam has DNSe (Digital Natural Sound Engine). When I get a decent I.E.M. & an amp, I feel the sound is awesome. How about HTC or I-phone?

The battery capacity is also pleasing me.

there were.starhub booting & shutting down screen,starhub wallpaper,starhub APN settings,starhub tv apps,ect
and i dun think there is way to remove them as it's the only telco in the world that release the phone,no alternative.

well,from my past testing,the 720p playback performance is not so smooth.
go for galaxy s for 720p as it got DivX HD cert.

there's a small starhub logo sticker on the back of the phone which I removed.
other than that ,no more physical logo.

pretty sure .mkv shutters on a lot of handsets, hell it even shutters on some older computers. if you convert your videos to the same format as those taken by the camera then it should be ok.

I usually convert all of mine into .avi at 30fps, 800x480 and 2000 bitrate. great quality and no slutter at all

pretty sure there is because my one has none of those. just stock samsung boot up and apps.

I mean, isn't the Beam supposed to have an awesome battery and such? (1800mAh as opposed to 1420mAh for iPhone 4). It can't even last me a day when I BARELY use it!
How are your experiences with its battery life?

must be cause apps loaded...have to quit apps using using auto killer or other task killer apps etc..
