TO all Samsung Galaxy BEAM Users,

If you have any bugs, problems or questions on your BEAM,please post on Samsung Mobile Singapore Facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/SamsungMobileSingapore
As the phone is already EOL (in just 3 months),we can only complain on Samsung Mobile Singapore Facebook page as it's the only place we can get support.
After conversation with Samsung SG lately,it seem that BEAM will get zero update or support after JI1 firmware. Hopefully we can get better software if we pressure them in Facebook.
Lastly,We are SCREWED!! :(

eol??? end of life??? wtf this phone is so new in the market?!

nothing to be mad about, this is samsung's normal attitude towards phones. same thing with omni HD and etc. if you want good after sale support for android you should really look at htc or motorola's phone.

They probably putting resources into SGB II running android 3.0 atm instead...

Don't bother, Samsung don't respond to complaints on their FB at all. Happened with Samsung Jet and OmniaHD, tons of complaints, in the end, nothing.

There's no point complaining to SamsungMobileSingapore. They only distribute and give feedbacks to HQ. They can't do anything about it if HQ says no..

at least we tried...but yeah,I think they just ignore most of the BEAM question
Samsung really suck in software.

I got my beam knowing that it probably wouldnt get much suport / 2.2. I also have an iphone 4 and my girl has the galaxy s. My Galaxy Beam is by far the favorite. I am surprised how good and usefull the projector is. This awesome phone could be a cruel tease, I hope that there is a Beam 2 as now I could never be happy with a phone without a projector.

Oh well, get used to it. :D

Same experience last time with OmniaHD. One of the reason I bought SGS is because i see got so many damn variants of it everywhere, so even if Samsung EOL it, at least some people out there can do something about it.

Otherwise, stay away from Samsung in terms of legacy support. They suck at it, because they concentrate more on hardware sales.

Definitely! I agree :) I would not get a phone without a projector for sure.. just too much fun... I don't think it will become a norm thou so probably a niche market such as those camera phones with optical zoom.

I'd expect the next beam to have a more powerful projector. I'm guessing 30-40 lumen will be a safe guess :o We can dream of a 300-400 lumen one thou haha, powerful enough to beam in broad daylight easily!

I got what you mean.
With my previous Omnia II,I can goes with custom ROMs.I believe OmniaHD got some custom ROMs as well.
But BEAM now was stuck in situation that can't get custom ROM and don't get official ROM.
When BEAM was released in Singapore,I saw some news that it will release in UK but till now nothing.
So I think we(BEAM user) should try to fight for better firmware ourselves.

I didn't hope for 2.2 as well but what I hope is Samsung will provide firmware update routine for at least a year. But now Samsung said no more updates and we can't get any custom ROM.:( I really love the phone and that is why I hope there is more updates coming.

sadly, u know deep in ur heart, fight also no use. hope for some decent custom roms is all u'll get. but given it's only sold mainly here, the chances go even lower. :(

actually with rockplayer the volume is very loud on my beam. i normally have it at half volume while watching movie on my bedroom wall. it might be that ur video itself which has low sound. u can try meridian but i think it has same volume as rockplayer

the SGB is one of the loudest phones you can get, the DNSe has something to do with it but I guess is to do with the fact that hey expect people to use it for presentation or watching movies on the projector?

they are virtual 5.1, i tried to output the audio to my 5.1 speakers and only 2 speakers will have sound :p

Where can we buy official battery for the Beam? I purchased a third party battery from Ebay, but that wont charge in the phone, it will only charge on the wall charger it came with. I really would like an official battery. Any ideas?
