Time flies!

In about 4 months and it will be a year that the Galaxy Fold was launched in Singapore
September 18 2019 to be exact

Just wondering whether your Fold warranty is the standard 1 year warranty?

I bought my fold around Oct 2019 and was checking the warranty on Samsung SG online.
Was surprised to see my warranty being extended till end of Dec 2020 which is awesome :)

Are you guys planning to do a screen replacement and repair before the warranty ends?
Samsung Z Premier services charges $200 based on their portal (last access May 2020)

Anyone send in their Fold for screen replacement?

Got my Fold!

Finally, decided to go with my heart and got myself a Fold. Can't wait to set it up for use.

Reason for getting Fold 1 instead.
1. No need for such a big screen on the cover display for Fold 2. My intended usage is to have quick glance of notifications and calls on cover display and if need be, open up and use the bigger display.
2. With the big cover display, no front casing. Will always feel the phone is half protected while using it unfolded. Weird.
3. Feels that Fold 2 is too big for one hand operation. Even Note 8 I also need 2 hands to use and it is almost the display size as Fold 2 cover display.
4. 512GB storage vs 256GB storage.
5. e-Sim.

Yes Fold 2 addressed the shortcomings of Fold 1, but somehow the bigger front cover display defeats the purpose of a one hand operation slimmer phone when folded, and bigger display when unfolded. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Fold 2 is no good, it is just personal preference.

Thanks to all seniors for the advice.

As my galaxy fold warranty is ending soon, decided to change the screen for $200 due to a very small scratch. Activated concierge service and very impressed with the prompt service and repair. Turnaround within 48hrs and service consultant very nice to change for me more than the screen. He replaced both my batteries and also the hinge plus the frame. Now the fold feel like a brand new phone with the improved hinge and also the new screen is improved with a film applied from factory according to the consultant. More resistance to minor scratch compared to original and he say no need to apply screen protector anymore. Now I can use with more peace of mind. Service consultant also give me a nice pouch for the fold and a cute phone stand. Also they provided me with a Note 10 plus loan phone while waiting for the repair. I think even though this could be their SOP for all customers but overall it’s a good experience and I am happy with the repair done.

Yes. Samsung word frame. Now the screen when open is very flat. Seems to have improve the spring mechanism.

Thanks for sharing, mine have 2 scratches on the frame. Really good news that Samsung may help to replace this piece.

You mean before not flat?
Care to explain more?

After using almost a year, the hinge tends to be lose and there is a flex when you lay the screen flat. You can also feel a bit of wiggle when u close the screen. With the new hinge, the fold open and close with a snap and no more wiggle. From the way the service consultant explain to me, it seems that samsung learn and improve on the fold along the way. Really looking forward to the fold 2.

I read that its not the Fold's problem. Instagram app is not optimised for Fold's aspect ratio.
