When install nova launcher all apps are gone. I uninstall. What is name of app similar to nova launcher?
apex launcher, go launcher

the apps are still there, try going into ur app drawer ?

unlike iOS which only has desktop, android has the "desktop" and the start menu(App drawer)

Hi guys,

I asked the question below at another thread but nobody seemed to be encountering what i did on my note 3.

When i was at the telco shop, i played with the demo model and found an option under "Controls" > "One-handed operations" > "Hand Adaptive Mode"

It basically allows the keyboard to sense which hand you are typing with and will adjust the keyboard to be nearer to that particular hand. This is only when u are using the phone with one hand that is.

However when i got my note 3, that option is missing.

Anyone can help check their note 3 to see if that option is available to you guys? Mine is Jet Black 32GB tho i doubt the colour would make the option appear or dissapear.. I tried every possible combo and options in the settings but nothing makes it appear. Tried googling also but noone has same issue.

Could my set be faulty?

hmm, mine also don't have this function, I believe it's still in demo mode, they still trying it out? So that's why you only get to try it on the demo sets? Maybe we will see this thing in near future, it's definitely quite useful for daily l handed usage especially when it can actually deed tell or right by auto!

Don't have that function my white set

It should be available as Samsung advertises it as one of the core features of the phone.

Seen YouTube videos where they demonstrated it from a retail set as well. :s12:

Just to share my personal review for my Black Galaxy Note 3 after owning it for about a day:

Design-wise:
+ Overall, it feels great in my hands
+ It’s light and slim
+ The “leather” back makes it easier to grip and looks more premium
* It’s a big phone but at least you can put it in most guys’ front pocket
- The only thing I dislike about the design is the chrome sides of the phone because it really feels plastic & cheap

Screen:
+ The screen is absolutely gorgeous with the Full HD (1920x1080) resolution
+ If you are worried about the saturated colours seen in most Samsung phones, then you will be glad to know that there is an adaptive mode that changes the colour saturation of the screen when you doing or viewing different things
* There is a “Professional Photo” screen mode for those who want to see “true colours” of things

Battery Life:
+ OMG the battery life is soooo darn good
+ This is one smart phone that I haven’t seen the battery life drop when
1) I’m putting it on standby for 2 hours or so
2) Watching a video for 10 mins
+ Charging is fast with the new USB 3.0 connectivity, you also have to note that it takes longer to charge because it has a bigger battery than most phones
- I can’t find an additional USB 3.0 cable (yet) for me to use in office if I want to enjoy the fast file transfer & better charging turnaround time

Usage
+ Everything is smooth & snappy (thanks to the 3GB ram & fast processor)
* I disabled most of the Samsung “smart feature” so I can’t comment on how “smart” this phone is
+ Camera is good good good good !!! I can see more details, clarity & lesser noise (with the indoor shots I took of my old phone to sell)
- Autofocusing seems to be a little slower than what I expected but it’s not something that you will go crazy about (not sure if it is because of the low light indoors. more test required)

Overall:
I will give the phone 9 out of 10, mainly because
1) I’m turned off the feel/quality of the chrome sides of the phone
2) The uncommon USB 3.0 connectivity will be a small issue as I can’t fully the enjoy the benefits of it if I don’t have the weird looking USB 3.0 cable with me

Interesting remarks. Any idea if disabling the smart features will prolong battery life? I ask because my wallpaper is a live wallpaper and most of the smart features are on. Wifi, email push and bluetooth are off.

After listening for music for about 20 mins (ok maybe it was 30), checking emails on & off, and random surfing on Firefox (no more than 20 mins in total), my battery was down to I think it was 90%. Am not sure if that is normal since this is my first Samsung and my first phablet?

Do you all take long to read your ez link card via NFC? My s3 using the NFC battery takes pretty long to read. Note 2 is instantaneous.

I believe turning off those smart features will prolong the battery life .... they are constantly waiting in standby for you to activate them since they are turned on so surely they will improve the battery life (no matter how little)

CHARGING TIME

ok guys let's talk about CHARGING TIME.

First of all, the power AC adapter design is rely good as nokia b4?
the 3pin can be seal and open up.

Feel is compact and robust and solid

Charging from 0 to 50% took 1 hour

1.5 Hour - reach 75%

meaning from 0% to 100% for a FULL charge needs only 2 hours! for a 3200mAH battery . woww..

impressive.
i LOVE THE BATTERY LIFE MAN.:)

how about u guys.

next i will try the laptop USB bus 3.0 900mAh charging, not sure if it's the same as compared to above AC - 2A charging current.

and next next is testing the files\movies writing via USB 3.0 bus speed.
wonder how long it take for a class 10 card . :)

Cheers to usage all :)

best best best NOTE 3 users out there..

oh yah MS selling note 3 $948...... without goodies bah haizz paid $1048 with accessories pack. wonder how come these shop can sell so cheap... :((

Just upgraded to 4G plan? Sometimes Telecos are slow or they simply forgot to activate 4g for you as it's a value added services.

You can try removing the sim card and put it back and try. If not call Telecos up.

yah i agree with u dude.

ppl always thought 4g is on by default , it's NO.

it's a value added service and must call in to ACTIVATE ....foc of course. :)

they probably get from Samsung way below the SRP of 1048,as they are resellers.

they are willing to take in telco phones at 800
So I'm assuming Sammy sells them at around that price or lower

above that is mark up, their profit :s12:

Disabling the smart features will improve the battery life, but I didn't find it significant. If you can connect to wifi though, don't disable it. Connecting to wifi automatically disables mobile data and it'll save a tonne of battery life. The biggest difference to battery life that I found was the "Location Services -> Use wireless networks" option. This thing uses your wifi and mobile data to determine your location and it keeps polling your connections for info, wakelocking the phone. On my S3, my battery drain went from 5-6% per hour on standby to 3% per hour on standby when I turned that off. But do note that some apps use it to determine your location if you turn the GPS function off.
