you guys never thought of using Sony Xperia Z Ultra? I tried the phone. I find that I prefer its screen over S4 and its very slim.

I hope to have a Note 3 size phone with waterproof. But Z Ultra is a bit big.

Contemplated abt xperia for its water resistant but having spen and option to change batt on the fly still main priority for moi

I find that using a normal pen and pencil easier than s-pen. do you buy an extra battery? all my friends using samsung phones all buy those battery pack to charge their phones. none bought extra batteries.

i find s-pen not easy to hold. just personal preference.

It's even worse writing on the Xperia Ultra. I tried with a pen on the demo unit and thanks to the lack of palm ignore, it was a torture to even write on it. The Note 2 can easily disable the capacitive portion of the screen and you can write naturally without any problems. Can even rest your palm on the screen and it will not bother me.

haha. for me, it's s-pen that turns me off Note 2 :s13:

Then it's not the phone for you lor, simple as that. Those that stick to the Note want the pen, not even the Xperia Z Ultra can replace that pen.

why do you prefer it to be squarish over curvy?
I find phones will them too over curvy. Note1/S2 is just nice.

However for other cases, curvy is always preferred over squarish :o

If u know what i mean.

Sony also damn funny lah. They got their own inductive pen technology that is similar to Wacom, and it's on their laptop. Yet they didn't do it for the Z Ultra.

Too bad Note 2 button placement looks like it was designed for a man with 10 inch long fingers.

Honestly, does it makes a difference?

Got pen no pen still the same.

I seldom use the S pen too only during Uni when can draw some graphs and send thru whatsapp to explain.

I think S pen is a great innovation

For me it's so good at work. Not always I have enough pockets to fit a small notepad and pen, and I need to move around alot. Can whip out pen and start writing on my phone when bump into a situation is priceless. After that straight away send it to my dropbox. :s13:

if u need spen, forget about the ultra.
I just switched over last night.
although I could live without the writing function... I still feel the ultra's attempt at using pen/pencil although seems very good, but sadly the implementation falls short of expectations. gimmick at best.

you mean the home button? I'm still using note1 so didn't notice any issues.

Hopefully they can increase the battery life :D

I think they were rushing out a phablet first, in case they miss the boat. just hope that future ultra or xperia will have those tech.

Not just the home button, but all the buttons on it. I hate the layout of the power and volume buttons and wish they were on a different level.

Well, at least now after they change CEO they are willing to chase trends and not catch up to a trend 2 years late.

Nah, I'm paying for my own phone. The Note 2 is just so convenient to have. That time I remember circling a map and scribbling some words on it to a friend who arrived in Singapore and was lost.

Screenshot->Open via Samsung picture editor->Draw+scribble map in different ink colors->Send via whatsapp

It was like a "woah" moment after I realized what I just did and was impressed at myself. :s13:

Does the button placement for note 2 different from note 1?

One thing i dislike about note is sometimes will have difficulty to surf net using one hand :(
