Hi, i wanted ask something about the trade in condition of my s23 ultra. The questionnaire asked if my phone's body has less than 4 visible scratches that's 3mm or less. I have 4 visible scratches thats less than 3mm but got one big large scratch around 1 cm at the bottom of my phone near the spen area( it is actually due to the super difficult to take off clear samsung case i used on it 🙄). If i still click yes but the person collecting it says it is not what i declared, will they just charge me for the difference? My s23 ultra 512gb trade in value is $775. But if click no that question on the visible scratches, it will be $585. A difference of $190. So i will be Charged the $190 right? Or my entire trade in value of $775 voided? Please advise. Thanks!
According to their terms of the trade in, clause h reads:

h) Final verification is carried out during device pick up. Should the courier staff find any Trade-in Issues between the actual and declared condition of your Trade-in Device, the courier staff may not proceed with the collection of the old device. You will either be charged (A) the full Trade-in Value and overtrade bonus (if any) OR (B) the difference between (i) the initial estimated Trade-in Value and (ii) the actual Trade-in Value based on the actual condition of the Trade-in Device as assessed by CompAsia.

Likely if what was declared is so different from the actual state, they would reject it. However if it is a matter of scratches, then likely (B) would apply. It’s at their discretion yah, as I am not Samsung or CompAsia I am just expressing my opinion. Usually my phones are scratch free so I didn’t have any issues.

What rubbish is this. The phone is still yours to do what you want to do. Just that you continue to pay the installment plan.

The only clause is you are not allowed to do an early termination only. Nobody will know what you do to the phone. Not unless you telling me that the phone has to go back to Starhub.
I'm wanted to buy s24 ultra with EasyGo again. But 1 line only allow 1 unit. So I can't pre-order until I finished my installment next month (Starhub do not allow early repayment). This problem also due to Samsung pull-in their release schedule (compared with last year). If not, I will not run into this issue.

So if i click and accept the lower trade value of $585, there will be a higher chance of my set being accepted and not voided? Anyone here has tried trading in successfully a set with a visible scratch of like 1 cm at the edges near the charging port? Really regretting putting on the super hard samsung clear case it gave as a gift. Sigh.

It is very simple, $400 over trade Samsung will still honour it. Compasia or PC Dreams will not honour the full amount of $775 if the condition it is not met. They will access and tell you the final quote.

If you find the quote not acceptable, iirc they will charge you the delivery fee for sending the phone back to you. And on top of that, you are liable to pay $775 in full if you choose this route.

Ah if thats the case....

Every year they will pull in earlier and earlier, that is done since a long time ago. Hence following contract plans are not gonna work with every year for you to get the newest and greatest every year. In fact nowadays contractual plans are not even worth to consider, buying phones from outside with no contract and doing year to year trade in, or in this case samsung trade up will be your best bet to change phone on time (if you are looking into that). If financing is a burden, then take up installment plan or do not buy it.

Thank you for the prompt reply. To all, Please do not use super hard clear cases from Samsung. It costs me $190 in damages or worse $775. Sigh.

TPU cases for the win. One of my old Galaxy phones also scratch up by hard case before. From then I only use TPU cases.

I need EasyGo for monthly claim purposes only. if not, will pay in full with my $8 plan per month.

Just went to SES at bedok mall just now, for those asking about color, they have 5 colors there.

2 fully functioning units which are titanium grey and violet. 3 dummy units with the samsung online exclusive colors, blue, green and orange. There are also 4 blocks of like 10x10cm with the other standard color that try to show the other colors but you cant really gauge how they look from that so they are pretty useless.

For blue, green and orange color, unfortunately the color makes the phone look plasticky and gives you that non-premiun feel. Violet looks ok. But the nicest looking one definately is the grey because the grey color back and the titanium side makes the whole unit look like they are fuss together seamlessly as one single titanium block. That really gives that premium look and feel, can difinately understand now why so many people says the grey is the nicest.
You missed out the blue actual set, I was there yesterday.

i am contemplating my s24 ultra order as i am coming from s23 vanilla.
Have always been using compact phones and it has always been able to fit the back zip pocket of my running shorts.
Think the ultra wouldn't be able to fit at all.
But then one reason for me is i start to have flower eyes, so i tot i needed a bigger screen to see better.
Not sure if i should cancel order or resell, so don't blame me for flipping hahaha.
This is your 老本行。。。 You are well known here for a nickname fl*pper...

why the last few % all the other phone drop like flies
two possible reasons:
1. other phone are used phones -- the battery capacity already dropped. you may know that for unhealth battery the last 30% really drops fast, and the last 20% actually can't last as long as the 90-88%
2. Samsung changed the battery percentage formula

first reason could be the truth. i.e., S24U burns battery faster than S23U
