Is this watch waterproof as well? Because my workplace very hot and always sweaty. Last time my LG Urbane 2 LTE, after every shift i wash with mama lemon otherwise strap becomes very smelly. Maybe for Galaxy watch, i'll just keep wiping down with alcohol on the strap after every shift?

The GW is IP68 rated and 50m waterproof.

The GW also has wifi connection, what is it for? BT is for phone connection and NFC for payments. Should I leave the wifi on or off?

WiFi is when Bluetooth signal weak..then it will use wifi to connect back your phone..but thru cloud..u can turn off to save more battery..

doki is right, wifi is only when you need to keep your watch connected to internet when bluetooth is not available, for any reason.

wifi is best to set to off if you intend to just use bluetooth only. you can switch to auto if you want the watch to select which to use when bluetooth is not available. but be warned, wifi usage will drain battery, so my suggestion is only to use it when you are at home.

do note that the watch takes the wifi profile set up from your phone, and captive portals are not supported.

Is it worth switching from fitbit versa to this galaxy watch? Mainly use for fitness tracking purpose

That a straightforward no. Why?

Don’t get me wrong....

Unless your Fitbit Versa is spoilt and you are in the market to get a new smart tracker, then ok to say it is worth...

But to get Galaxy Watch for fitness tracking just because it looks good compare to Versa.... I don’t know what to say.... Versa is nice btw...

PS - I do not have smart watch or fitness tracker, but I am holding out for Amazfit Verge which was recently launched.

Since you are OK with using a fitbit versa, I assume that you only need a fitness tracker for general fitness tracking rather than tracking specific fitness activities.

Both are OK for general fitness tracking, though you may want to consider their sizes and battery life and see which suits you better.

Just fitness tracking alone, versa is significantly superior.

The galaxy watch had a software bug currently, the heart rate monitor hangs on interval or during mid exercise quite often. Samsung shop(from vivo) had confirmed and mentioned patch coming on November.
Even the step counter hangs on rare occasion too. Tracker is not as efficient as versa.

Versa have way better sleep tracking too.
Not sure if it’s because of the above bug, gw can’t read my deep sleep at all (always monitoring is on).
Also GW is a little too heavy to sleep comfortably with.

Then again GW thrashes versa on the ‘smart’ aspect like phone calls, reading notification and making excellent quality and noise cancelled phone calls.
GW is 1 good looking watch too.
Screen is big and awesome!
The fitness tracking part is a huge disappointment though =/

I went through the same thinking process as u a couple of weeks ago. I primarily need a fitness tracker more than smart watch.

After reading feedback from various forums I decided to keep to my Garmin, as the galaxy watch seems to have heart rate monitoring issues.

That a straightforward no. Why?

If you want smart watch instead of fitness tracker then buy the galaxy watch.
