Quick question: Is the pen that comes with the Samsung F4 Case with Pen same as the S Pen Fold Edition or just a generic "can lah" S Pen?

fold edition. Cannot use non fold pen on the fold, except for the s pen pro in 'fold' mode

Fold edition S Pen is retractable due to added spring mechanism.
This spring mechanism helps to reduce the pressure when users press the tip of S Pen against the foldable Ultra-Thin Glass screen, thereby reducing the chance to break the glass.

Non-Fold edition S Pen lacks the spring mechanism and hence, it is not suited to be used on Fold.
In fact, you will get a warning message if you attempt to use a non-Fold edition S Pen on the Fold.

I just got my Samsung cover with S-pen... colour (beige) very chio but material is not grippy despite matt finish so always scared will slip out of the hand unlike the cheap china case I had. Also the front doesnt cover as much of the screen as the other one but downside is it made the Spigen screen protector really look small and insufficient to cover the front... debating whether to change screen protector or case 😅

change to Samsung original SP film will solve the issue. It will definitely be a perfect match.
fyi. I'm using this too but the black color.

I used that also and paste a anti slip sticker at the back to make it less slippery. Anyway, the case don't really protect the phone that well..I dropped once on the road and the side of the phone near the hinge chip off. The hinge also got scar. Haha. Now I go raw.

I've been using my S10+ for 3.5 yrs now, thinking of upgrading to the galaxy Fold 4 or the 14PM. i'm leaning towards the fold 4 since its a no brainer for functionality and ingenuity, but i'm worried about its durability.

I don't change phone often and hopes for my next phone to last me at least 3-4 years, to which the 14PM will definitely be able to. For those who had used the original Fold and fold 2, how did the inner screen hold up after a couple years of usage?

Hi KYLee,

I have been using a Fold 2 for about 1.5 years. I just upgraded to a Fold 4 this week.

I have been a careful user of my Fold 2 since day 1, but my inner screen suddenly wouldn't open fully sometime around 11.5 months. I was really lucky it happened within the warranty period.

Samsung service centre replaced the inner screen and the battery (seems like it comes with the screen). It has worked well since after the repair.

Personally, I think the Fold devices have more moving parts and will likely experience more failures compared to a candy bar phone.

What you trade longevity for, is a device that is a champ at versatility and productivity. The inner screen is a joy to use for media consumption, reading and multi-tasking.

Other users may have no issues and their Folds have lasted them since purchase ... I am just relating my personal experience with my Fold 2 ....

Hopefully with experience, Samsung has learnt to make the Fold 4 to be more lasting than the earlier models.

YMMV

Thanks for your info! I guess the purchase of Care+ is highly recommended then! I wonder if All Fold/Flip 4 purchases comes with a year free of Care+? Or do we have to purchase at 50% to get the 2 yrs option?

Yes, I would recommend the purchase of Care+. I have not bought it before, but I think given my experience with my Fold 2, I would go get it as well.

Haven't looked at the details. Maybe some other user who has experience can clarify ...
