u should read up more on the technology used by samsung pay apple pay, esp their security features.

btw... u can use Dash which is more like wechat pay if u don't like credit card payments.

Dash is still lacling behind in ease of use, compaing to wechat pat, which os basically scan and authenicate

got swipe terminal need to enter cvv code? or is it because MST?
btw when using MST, how do the cashier verify ur signature?

Damn sian that Samsung Pay and my NFC EZlink.

Each time i tap for Samsung Pay, my NFC EZlink unable to tap on buses.

Need to turn off, and turn on the NFC again and tap onto another reader.

Damn paiseh let people wait and bus driver staring.

Ended up, i resort into putting in NFC sim card on my S7E, and Samsung Pay on my S7.

Anybody tried the self checkout at ntuc using samsung pay? I selected flash pay option, then when I tried to scan the phone at the terminal it says fail and have to call the service lady to reset the options.

flashpay is for NETS Flashpay card used for public transport.
for samsung pay, apple pay, paywave, paypass, expresspay... u should select "credit card" or "contactless cc" button. both options can let u tap cc.

btw as samsung pay will emit both NFC and MST signals, maybe u should avoid tapping too near to the card swiping area.
anyone can confirm what happen if u tap too near to the swiping area? it will use MST instead? or it will detect both and give error?

Cashier said I "swiped twice" and gotta cancel one transaction.

Went DBS online to check no transaction history. Tried calling 1800 111 1111 but cant get through. There's no way to check transaction history via samsungpay app right?

So far, I got two failures and both of these were on the NTUC all in one terminals. So maybe there is something to what you are saying about conflicting NFC/MST signals.

Samsung Pay works perfectly on the white NFC terminals.

China has 5 million contactless terminals, that's the reason why apple launched there with applepay It's the world's biggest contactless market, by far

Of course they accept UnionPay there, not the other schemes, which anyway SamsungPay also launched with, so you can pay at contactless as well as normal terminals. I believe UnionPay is also in Singapore with the chinese banks right?

I'm not sure what you mean by universal appeal, i guess you mean appeal if you live in china because there are many services enabled by those 2.

I do use alipay but only if i want to buy in taobao and in the chinese app, other than that, i don't really find any other use cases.

Have.
Open the samsung pay application. Select the card that you used. Scroll below. There is an area which records your transaction history.

I have the same as you, both samsungpay and NFC ezlink, but don't experience the problem you have.

Check your nfc settings, keep it default to samsungpay and try again.

I also have auto select under advanced nfc settings.

although i must say it's irritating when there is a timelag of around 2 seconds when i use at mrt and sometimes it says card error, then i have to try again

i have not tried mine but i think under the NFC and Payment/Tap & Pay, under Setting, your default payment is Samsung Pay, but then at the last option, you will be able to choose >> "Use that app instad of Samsung Pay"

hope this will solve the problem i haven't got time to try yet, maybe i should go take a bus.

I have the same query few days ago and someone replied it will auto on when I try to make payment.

Added many cards few days back and so far yet to try coz didn't want to hold up the queue.

I see that there are merchants that display "Apple Pay Accepted' but nothing on Samsung Pay. I'm assuming that despite there is no display about 'Samsung Pay Available' from the merchant, I can still use my this service, right?

There may be 5 million of such terminals, but the digital mobile payment using apps dominate 90% of the market.

Apple Pay is just starting and so far usages is low.

it depends on how old the terminal is, older terminals will require the cvv code which doesn't mean it needs to be the real cvv code. its something to do with the glitch of the firmware but not a security compromise bah. i have tried it before and any 3 digits you enter will let the transaction pass through, of cos u need to sign at the end.

thank you for enlightening me. i think you just gave me a clue on why my nfc is always giving me issue with samsung pay and nfc ezlink...

there is no such thing as giving u an error cos of both nfc and mst signal. cos each of the receiver only recognises one signal...

nfc turns on automatically when your simple pay is launched, even if your nfc is turned off by default..

some places like ntuc are using all-in-one POS terminal.
when the screen shows "pls swipe/insert/tap card"... that means the same machine will have all receivers activated at the same time... and all receivers are very near to each other.
i just guess that there may be possibility that nfc reader and swipe area both receiving the signal at the same time. won't happen?
