I mean get an SMS to you after each transaction, a kind of receipt
for me I have it if it's above $1, below $1 ocbc can't do it, don't know why

these SMS that you are referring to are sent by the banks AFTER the transactions are done and/or approved by the card issuers.

by the time you receive such SMS you have to call the bank to dispute on the transaction and file a charge dispute and wait for the 120 days while the card association investigate and informs your bank if your dispute is successful and liable for the charge or not.

in Singapore it's hard to get away with crime committed on the streets. identify theft online can be conducted by VPNs or within the dark web, which sometimes even FBIs need to trace like **** to locate the end user, let alone SPF. lolz

you have no obligation to oblige to the request of the cashier. You should have spoken to the manager and instead of acceding to her demand.

By the law of MAS, no retail personnel has the power to jot down the full 16digits of your physical card, and by the law of MAS, approving the use of virtual cards (eg google/samsung/apple pay), you only need to give them the last 4 digits of the virtual card number if cashier requested.

the role of being an educator does not lie on you and that you have the freedom to share with the ignorant staff.

For this, i suggest you contact the hotel immediately to bring to their attention of such a case and that the staff definitely require further training to safeguard the financial details of their own customers.

If you have doubt in the severity of your issue, i can assure you that the action of jotting down your full credit card details is tantamount to swiping your credit card, which means its also equivalent to violation of MAS law and a police report can be lodged.

With regards to why one works and another don't, it is likely due to the angle of scanning. You need to aim the MST señor at the magnetic sensor of the terminal, failure to do so will cause the terminal to refuse the signal of the phone.

It takes some trial and error if you're the first time user. Have been using MST/NFC samsung pay all along and i cannot recall when was the last time i took out my card..

Thanks for the advice. I will feedback to them regarding this. It just seems like a lot of merchant out there doesn't know about MST.
Never encounter issue for Paywave though.

I exchange for a pair of movie voucher before.
The reason I'm using Samsung Pay is for the OCBC $1 = 4 miles promotion.

send email to all colleagues in department offering to buy any beverages and/or snacks available via the office pantry for them. (the machine only accept payment via NFC / contactless cards)

proceed to office pantry vending machine and spam Samsung pay on the vending machine for those that made orders. machine only accepts 1 order per transaction.. :s13:

rinse and repeat, likely can become top 3 users. :s13:

I noticed samsung pay does not work well with nets terminal recently. Very high chance of payment not accepted. but if use with other terminals, like those used in cold storage/ntuc, no problem at all.

however, apple pay works with any terminals. talk about compatibility. sigh..
