Sorry guys, new to this Samsung pay thing after gettign my note10 in Dec.

Any good benefits of using this Samsungpay, other than the redeeming of the rewards? Right now I only get 10points for each tap.

Assuming I tap my ezlink 12 times per wee, 12 x 6 = 72 points. 72 points x 4 = 288 points per month.
It will be some time before I can get to redeem stuff?

paywave = cashless payment. if i want to tap my card or phone or watch, i will tell the shop pay by paywave. this can be used on visa, mastercard and amex (if the shop accepts amex). usually the shop won't ask anymore questions. some shops will ask if it it visa or mastercard. no shops will ask to see the card first.

so... just say "paywave" when making payments. all shops will understand what it is.

just a reminder, if you mention samsung pay, you might wanna consider whether you are using MST or contactless payment. if you happen to see those contactless readers, you just need to inform them paywave/paypass/contactless payments, they will know how to go about doing it.

but if you wanna make large purchases through MST, then u have to tell them you need to scan their terminal where the swiping magnetic mechanism is.

At a Xiaomi store in HK, I was not allowed to use Samsung Pay even though the NFC reader was right in front of me. The cashier directed me to a handwritten sign which stated that Apple Pay and Samsung Pay were not accepted. In the end, I had to use the physical card to make the NFC payment.

That happened some time ago. Ridiculous.
