Oh hey I got my queue number too. It is 18 sept :)

The funny thing is I got a shock when I was checking previously that there is this whole list of items (freakin >20 items) we have to submit by 11 sept? Yet we do not have sight of our appt date nor the forms to fill up to submit. Like how would I know when I don’t have sight to my HDB package.

I think our HDB not very smooth in this aspect. Oh wells ~ (I was only informed of selection appt this morning)

Congrats on getting your date! Waiting for my turn soon..

So means just ignore all the documents stated online and just bring whatever they state in the appointment letter package right? :)

If u r applying for grants and hle it is good to apply n submit in advance. Or at least prepare in advance. Cos base on average ans here, the appt date is released one month before

I am applying for tampines 5rm. So not eligible for grants haha. Just checked HLE application and they told me to submit extra payslips by 2 Sept. Does that date mean anything? :D

The HLE and the Grants are 2 separate things. If you’re getting a HDB loan, then you’ll need a valid HLE on selection day, so yes that date will mean something. Of course if you’re getting a bank loan, then that date means nothing.

For HLE it is a must if u are taking hdb loan. Cos u must have a approved hle during selection of flat if u intend to take hdb loan. For grants, u can do it during the process.

Submit in advance as in get it APPROVED with HLE letter issued to you stating up to $x amount of loan you are eligible for, before selection date :) HLE letter is valid for 6 months so no harm applying and getting it approved for ease of mind ~

When I mean ignore all the document online is if you already have HLE approved & just need to bring the required documents for selection date~ Basically:
1) Valid/approved HLE letter
2) documents in appt date/selection package

Great! We have the HLE letter ready. Thanks for the clarification.

Side track abit: Wise to get the grant (4 room non-mature estate), say my spouse and I have the intention to upgrade in the future?

Everyone may have different opinions for sure, but my personal take on this is that if can afford, don’t take the grant, since if you’re going to upgrade, means you need to return the grant with interest when you’re selling your flat. But if not intending to sell and live forever there, I would take the grant.

The grant would be returned to your own oa account with accrued interest. You can then reuse it for ur next house using cpf.

Since he's gonna get a flat from hdb, resale levy would be applicable next time(if he apply for another flat from hdb) regardless of whether he took grant or not.
