Hi everyone,
I made a significant purchase on Carousell from NVX System Integrators Pte. Ltd., including a deposit for a Custom Waterloop PC and a deposit for the ASUS ROG UCDM32 OLED Monitor, totaling $6,877.79. The agreement was for delivery of the PC within one month, a dateline given by him, starting from June 1st. However, the delivery date has been delayed three times, and despite promises of updates, in his own words ‘will update soon’, I haven't received any. I’m not even certain about the progress and development of the computer, considering all he said was ‘will update soon’ and ‘parts delayed’. It has been almost 2 and a half month now from the date of payment on the 18th of May.
I understand that running a business is challenging, and delays happen, but given the substantial amount of almost $7,000, it’s not unreasonable to expect simple updates. Other custom PC vendors have assured me that a month is more than sufficient to complete the order. This has understandably raised my concerns and made me worry that I might be dealing with a scam.
I asked for updates because I need the PC by August 1st as a gift for my brother's departure. Considering others have also contributed to the PC, they were pushing me to get answers from NVX. The seller kept saying "Will Update Soon," but the updates never came. Despite giving him the benefit of the doubt, by the end of July, things still felt off. I wasn't receiving any concrete information regarding the progress of the computer like he promised.
I had previous positive experiences with this seller and he seemed like a genuinely nice person. His reviews and past history indicated he was prompt and helpful, which aligned with my earlier interactions with him, that is why i trusted him and worked with him on my custom loop pc.
Normally, I only leave positive reviews and avoid raising issues unless they are serious. But this situation has escalated. Today, I visited his registered addresses in Sim Lim and his old office where i have collected an item from him before, but neither location was correct—the Sim Lim store has been closed for about a month.
I'm now left without a way to reach him, his phone numbers are all down, he is also not responding on platforms. After my investigation today, the suspicion that I might have been scammed has escalated. I will be filing a police report to try to resolve this issue.
If he was upfront about the delays or given me a more concrete datelines and not ignore my messages constantly, i would have totally understood, but his inactions and constant ghosting has gotten me worried. Please let me know if my concerns are not justified, i would love to hear your thoughts and feedbacks.
Current Situation:
Delay, Lack of Transparency and Ghosted: It has now been over two months and thirteen days since the original project initiation date. The seller has ceased all communication, ignoring my messages and requests for a refund or an updated delivery timeline of the computer.
Carousell's Inaction: Despite reporting the issue to Carousell, no action has been taken against the seller, only a banner on the seller stating the he has an unresolved transaction. My concerns remain unresolved.
Physical Store Visit: On August 13th, I visited two registered addresses for the company:
Kim Hoe Centre, 23 Kelantan Lane #03-01B, Singapore 208642 and Sim Lim Square #03-11.
The store was in neither location; the Sim Lim Square store has been closed for about a month, and the contact number listed is non-functional. According to neighboring stores, the business moved out approximately one month ago.
Online Presence: The seller's last online activity on Shopee was three weeks ago, with a note indicating he is on vacation. On Carousell, his last activity was almost two weeks ago.
Actions Taken:
I have reported this case to DBS and would greatly appreciate any assistance in initiating an investigation into NVX System Integrators Pte. Ltd. (UEN: 202037989H).
If anyone has experienced similar issues or has information regarding NVX System Integrators Pte. Ltd., i would greatly appreciate it if you could come forward. Your support could be crucial in addressing this situation and preventing further fraud and others from being scammed. The seller's stores are still listed online, and it’s only fair to resolve this issue—ideally, it’s a misunderstanding—before allowing him to continue operating. We need to ensure that no more people fall victim to potential scams.
