A quick Q, how many of you guys encrypt your SD card on your phone? Does it affect performance?

The Class also helps to differentiate. Class 10 is not the normal standard. They are all standards. The only diff is that CLASS stops at 10MB/s of minimum read write. UHS GRADE has only 2 - 10 and 30. So it technically is just a rating. Many cards with UHS grade 3, typically has double the minimum required. So my benchmark helps you to differentiate that.

Doesnt do that. Not really advise to. If you encrypt your card using a phone. And you take it out to use in other device. You cant. And to encrypt and decrypt takes some time. Depending on the amount of info in your card.

It is a tough one, but depends on your needs. Kingston, Sandisk and Lexar are good brands to look at.

I heard from my friends say that Kingston support lifetime warranty? How about Sandisk and Lexar?

Anyway so far I didnt hear Lexar before lol.

still can get Kingston class 4 in the market. several dollars difference between class 4 and 10. from my cards, the class 4 is exactly write speed 4 mb /s and the class 10 is exactly write speed 10 mb /s ( overall speed ). so better get class 10.

Yeah, but if you don't, and lose your phone (touchwood), even if your phone is locked, people can still take out your sd card and look at all your photos etc. UNLESS you encrypt. but if you do so, it's more troublesome, and takes away one advantage of having a SD card slot, which is the ability to just put it in other devices to transfer data. :s22:

End up might as well just use build-in storage. lol.
