Oh sorry I meant I’ll be returning the car then stay in Sapporo for another 2 nights. But since I’m travelling from niseko which takes 2 hours ill should reach Sapporo in the afternoon. So wondering if there’s any place I can go to utilise my car before I return at 8

i also prefer to return car, then stay in Sapporo for a couple more days to complete shopping etc

whilst with the car, can considergoing to :
1) Mega Donki outlets in the outslirt for last minute shopping with Tax Refund (easier if going to Otaru)
2) eat at one of the other 4 Hanamaru sushi outlets that is not crowded as the one at JR
3) Mitsui Outlet or Rera Outlet
4) Makomanai Takino Cemetery Park (big buddha, moai n stonehendge) ... wld be nice with snow

3 & 4 will entail longer drives from Niseko

while in Sapporo, if u like Oysters, try to seek out GoTsubo .. Susukino area .. not easy to find, entrance from small alley .. there is also an insanely popular Ramen place "Keyaki" just at the corner of that alley

Can I also ask if you need snow boots during winter? Will it be slippery if I wear normal sports shoes?

U mean winter boots or snow boots? Snow boots are used for trekking snow mountains and are usually waterproof... winter boots are for walking on normal streets during winter for better traction and are sometimes not waterproof...

if u are just walking on normal street and worry abt slipping... then get those wear on snow spikes that can be fitted on your shoes...

dun think pple go buy new snow/winter shoes just for few days of walking on snow... most pple just wear that spikes and spray waterproof spray on their shoes...

Usually normal streets which are heavily used by pedestrians will not be slippery... and snow itself is not slippery... it is ice that is slippery... so avoid going out early in the morning and evening when snow are melting and refreezing back to ice...

Is JR Inn hakodate the best hotel in terms of convenience & value for money? (next to JR station & opposite morning matket). I book $140+/night but the room size looks small at 20m2, with 3 pax. Im taking public transport in hakodate. Looking around for cheaper option since free cancellation from agoda.

how about Route Inn Grantia, also v near JR ..

20sqm is actually quite big ... r you 3 adults or 2A1C ?

for good value, also try Hokke Club .. the location is near Goryokaku though ... good breakfast with public bath

I stayed at comfort hotel. Their twin room is 25m2 but don't think can add bed. Booked direct.

I am planning for a 2 day Hokkaido trip from Tokyo (6 days).

If I do not like skiing, what other attraction does it have at Hokkido?

Is it easy to reach Hokkaido from Tokyo, and there after from Hokkaido to Narita Airport?

.. looks good, cheap even with BF ! just SGD 70 for Twin with BF !

but i think they have very few Twin Rooms
Ya the rate is pretty good for the room size. Very few twin rooms cos I think it's something like 1 room per level and it's not a high building. 😂 The bfast area is pretty small area and simple set up.

if it's just for 2 days, i think better skip Hokkaido and do something closer to Tokyo

if really want touch n go type, maybe Shinkansen to Hakodate is the most convenient mode of transport ?

Hi, any recommendation for hotel budget less than $200 in Furano? Realise most hotels & farmstay is very expensive there.. or is there any cheaper options nearby furano? I'm driving so don't mind drive to hotel outskirt of furano, but not too far away as i will be visiting areas like farm tomita, patchwork road, blue pond etc

there is Gram for pancakes/desert

we had a surprisingly good western meal (and affordable) at Bikkuri Donkey, with seaside view (we wanted beef burger, Lucky only serves chicken)

there is a very popular old time sukiyaki place ... Asari Honten, reservations needed, always full ... call several days in advance

as we missed Obihiro's buta-don, we got our fix here 豚丼とそば十勝晴れ函館万代店 ... not bad, we ate here twice

do note the Beer Hall closes quite early for a Beer place ... we were there like 8.15pm n it was already closed .. (google says closes at 9.30pm)

Fairfield by Marriott Hokkaido Minamifurano フェアフィールド・バイ・マリオット 北海道南富良野

I just checked out from this hotel. 27km away from Furano city about 30min drive and it is near tomamu resort area if you are interested in snow activities
