i always use AVIS or Budget Car rental.... no issues thus far... rented Vios, CRV x2 , Isuzu -MuX from them.... do note petrol in thailand is quite expensive.... RON 95 can be around SGD 1.5

if u arrive in suvarnabhumi airport, u need to collect and return car and an remote site around 10 mins away from the arrival hall.... they will have a van to load all your luggage and bring you to a giant carpark where all the car rental compaines park the cars..... can be quite a hassle when returning as well.... need to cater earlier return

thank you for reading..... speaking from my own experience =)

thanks for sharing, so we have to collect the car 10mins away from the airport?

It depends on the rental company u rent from. Not all from away from airport. Major companies all have their store located within the airport.

car...

for those had been there by car before, along the way, any cafe or restaurant we could grab some food?=:p

I mean I go to Khao Yai before but not by renting car, me and my gf took minivan there and then rent bike. There is a lot of café and restaurants along the way so there is no need to worry. Plus if drive, at most I think It will take about 2hrs or probably less than that.

Where do you guys and gals recommend to stay in Khao Yai? Planning for Dec trip

Stay at least one nigth at Thames Valley Khao Yai.. It is beautiful hotel.. England theme.. Once you go in you will be greeted by english oldies songs.. Though the rate is more expensive than other hotel,it is worth it..

Dun miss to visit Toscana Valley.. Tuscan theme hotel.. Stay there one night if possible.. Splendid scenery.. Got italian town and replica of leaning tower..

I used those two before and another smaller company. So far don't really have any issue.

Once had issue with car but had insurance so easily changed another car without problem next day. That was with Hertz.

I know that Hertz and budget has both office in airport and city. But not at mbk area though. I usually rent it from the city instead of airport for lower cost. If u return at different location, they might charge u extra as well.

Just go to their website direct and do a test to loan from airport and return at city. If they have city branch then u can see. If not then only at airport.

Town I don't mean central area. As in inside the city.

I got from Hertz and budget in city area only and yes. At sathorn area for Hertz. Budget I think near Rama 9.

I always try to stay near to the rental area so easier to pick up or return. You just need to plan accordingly. U can also stay else where. So something like u drive to check in your hotel is say pratunam area. Then drive to return car. Then take train or cab to whatever place u want to go lo. Simple and easy. But timing wise u need to plan Abit cause of the check in time, and return car timing. Hertz usually allow return up to 2 hr after your timing. Budget also. U can confirm with them the timing when u take your car.

Zero excess means if accident or damage then won't need to fork out any money lo. It will be covered. If not u have to pay if got damage or accident.

Hertz ZE I think about 300 baht per day. When u rent,it will have the info there.

Drove to korat, khao yai, hua hin, Pattaya, chanthaburi, kanchanaburi, rayong etc etc.

oh yes. for hertz, go search for visa or master or some promo. they always have. sometimes 10% discount, sometimes rent 5 day rent 1. or free car upgrade.
I usually get the free day or discount one.
