Moe and the school still thinks they are doing enough to protect BOTH bullies and victim?

If they nip the problem in the bud and offered proper protection, communication and space to the victim, things would not happen as what it is now..

Now society stepping in to educate the bullies.. moe now starts to blame public and demonise the victim further 😱

maybe hit them on their small little hands

that was considered normal punishment by any teacher in the 80s.

only the VP and P are allowed to do public caning in front of the students...and there was public caning in Pri school in the 80s.
teachers now cannot hit students at all
even private caning rarely done and only by authorised teachers

western bs

Now we know that the girl's mother was not truthful.
The school ... there had been previous incidents, and the school had taken action each time an incident was reported. Yet she claimed that the school didn't take any action.

Also, her daughter herself , on some occasions engaged in hurtful behaviour, including using offensive and racist slurs. Yet she now asked for details to show proof of that.
Furthermore the school had arranged for a meeting with her .... but instead she went on-line to make her allegations against the school

We have been fooled by a typical PRC woman!

The way things have evolved, the boys should be made to change classes to distance from the girl. Then the sch can monitor and see if it's also e girl's issue after the so called bullies are removed.

wonder if that has any effect at all :o
me rather the kids get an expulsion

perhaps a temp one & a parents' guarantee of their kid's good behavior til' end of sch term

also made to pay a certain amount before refunding them, only if the conditions are met

They talk all this cork no use huan , if no harsh/heavy punishment put in place

Want to cont pang chance culture, then be prepared for more buwee cases cumming

MOE or gahmen still dun want to understand, kids of today notch same kids of rast time

And they still wonder why many dun want to hab kids nowadays
The current culture is not the real. Path. Strongly suggest everyone don't be dumb enough to create. More. Children. The rules are laid to tell parents to not teach the child the own family way but to just cajole them along the way.
Completely no discipline. And more of this. Problem are already out there.

This is a sick society alot of selfcreated problems.
Nowadays the kids can't be managed as no family rules discipline, look like the family values, moral value in future generation also eroded.
Keep a pet is the way to go. :)

Fix this problem first then talk of boosting population.
Or jus continue to top up from. Other countries. It's all good.
Jus three cents worth info if u r not married or have children yet, the answer is, don't do it.

1. There is subsidy to help u and ur children defray ur cost: it's a joke. They want to give but the money can't be used. They subsidize u 300, the centre fee 1100. If u got three children, the subsidy taken away once ur first n second child went to highe level.
2. Can't discipline child.
3. The teruk society and poor governance out there, will give u more hair pulling stress. Totally not worth, not in sg least to say.

Jus piling more stress on parents.
Not the correct time. Don't be deceived.
Too ppl lost touch.

Honestly, the bullying problem we see in schools today reflects a deeper issue — kids nowadays not enough discipline and moral grounding. Last time, our parents and teachers worked together to make sure children grow up with respect and proper values. If you misbehave, teacher scold or punish, parents also support. The focus was always on building character first, then academics.

Now it’s the opposite. Parents rush to protect their kid the moment a teacher corrects them, some even threaten to complain. Teachers also scared of parents and MOE rules, so discipline becomes very soft. End up children grow up not respecting authority, cannot handle frustration, and don’t think about consequences. That’s why we see more cases of bullying, selfishness, and lack of empathy.

If Singapore really wants to tackle bullying, cannot just keep doing campaigns or workshops. Must go back to basics — teach values and discipline from young, let teachers do their job without fear, and parents need to stop spoiling their kids. Academic results important, but without character and ethics, society will pay the price later.

the school tries to downplay death treat as prank call, frame the child who retaliate as engage in hurtful behavior, if the bullying is for 6 months then why only took action after the mother took if to social media.
Why the bully still gets to close to the girl and injure her after he made the death threat?

Everything shows that MOE and the school tries to downplay the issue before the incident is made public.
1st day in singapore is it? only Once made public to social media then the relevant department will take fast action.

ppl say wanna chop the child and the parents into tiny little pieces but still mus wait for teacher parent meeting

moe jin satki sia

also it's quite clear that the actions of the school are not doing any good, and only making things worse if it escalated all the way to calling the parents and making death threats

their parents obv dont care and cant control the 3 childs and saying the victim also not a good child is lmao
what is this even suggesting? that if ur child not a model student, its ok for them to get bullied?

Not model child = repeatedly using racial slurs against other kids.

Well, their account of this is when the student reported lor. Could have been going on, but teacher never take things seriously. Ask to change seat also take how long to respond..

The MOE post seems like trying v hard to make the victim look bad.

Edit: just saw the first part of the timeline that says there were squabbling since the beginning of the year. To the teachers, it's just 4 kids squabbling, but it seems quite clear that 3 of them were closer to each other than the victim. So, to the victim, it's 3v1. Teacher's fault for noticing the squabbling but not the bullying.

Student C tanks it all. Parents should get it as well since never teach child good values.

to me looks like the victim racial slur is just defending herself from the bullies.

Maybe, maybe not. But whats confirmed is that MOE post is targeting the victim and leaving out alot of what the bullies did.

There were three instances where they mentioned the victim using harsh language, but only twice for the bullies.

And the suspension was for the prank calls and death threats. Seems like bullying was not the issue. And also, after suspension they will conduct bag checks of the bullies? Was there an indication they'd bring something dangerous before this?

MOE desperately trying to defend the teachers when the fact is they did not do enough to protect the child.

Wle… MOE statements go and target the victim parents instead…. Not sure what MOE trying to do here…The death threats didn’t just occur leh… bullying already happened over a period of time… If the school had addressed this early on, u think any reasonable parents would publish these publicly? MOE better do an internal investigation
