Greeting to all future neighbours

I'm also one of the sers buyers hoping to secure a dream home at Dawson.
Hope to discuss more with everyone here on the pro and con of all the sites.

To begin,

Site A- has the best building design, most facilities available.
Site B- most closer to MRT
Site C- most quiet environment
Site D&E- not the best, but still at good location

Although we like the space area a 5 room can give, but financially it is too high for us. In the end, we opt for 4 room. Even the price tag for highest floor for a 4 room is considered high for an average earning family.

Consider "site f"? Commonwealth 10. Ready to move in

Same but i understand from HDB that actually there are alot of families opt for 5 rooms this round above what they have expected

Then again I thought that the with purpose of getting the census for the types of rooms people will be going for, they would build more 5 rooms instead. :s13:

Hi future neighbor. Fellow 4R here. Queue no suck though, what did you get?

Anyway, all the sites are fine with me except D, Commonwealth 10 as I will prefer to opt for premium hdb.

My inputs
A: Large roof top garden, quite nice layout.
Cons: very cramp building layout (as in to other units and buildings) according to my hdb officer.

B: Near mrt, spacious
Cons: not much unblocked view choices

C: Most stylish looking. Full length windows for all. Next to sky terrace.
Cons: Rather far from mrt

E: Quite near mrt, walkable to ikea and mall, fast completion.
Cons: less premium feel, no balcony, face/near road and mrt track.

How many 5R units are there actually? And how many applicants from this round of SERS applicants?

My views.

I will opt for C.
Reason is simple, sky terrace will help on the resale value prices.
It aint that far, my friend staying in sky terrace walks to MRT daily to work.
You can cut through the flats for shortcut.

I know for 4R but off hand cant rem for 5R. If I'm not wrong they also never one shot tell you the no of units available, including the surplus.

I have yet to open my mail from hdb, will do so tonight. But overall my queue no is 2k+ as mentioned previously. Zzz

Hi Indomitable,

I'm considered one of few fortunate people. My Q number is P02xx. After so many tries in so many years, this is the best q number we can hope for.

Hi Batniss,

Indeed we are blessed this time after so many years of waiting. In some cases, we don't even manage to get a q number due over subscribe.

I think everyone here will have a chance to get a unit at Dawson and many good units to choose even for later q numbers for many reasons.

1. Financial restrictions such as total debt ration
2. Some prefer mid floors
3. Some prefer greenary view such as the garden on top the car park.
4. Some want to move in early in 2019
5. Many senior and older residents only wanted to stay in 2 or 3 room.

Last but no least, actual q number is actually much shorter for your desired room.

We also like the quiet surrounding site C can offer. We used to stay right in front of a busy road. The noise level is quite terrible.

Total of 4 rooms across site A - E: 1,073 units
Total of 5 rooms across site A - D: 356 units

HI, is anyone taking bank loan?
The letter states that one must submit the letter of offer within 3 months from flat booking.
Does anyone know if one can submit in-principal approval instead? 4 years is a very long time to commit to a bank loan package

I enquire before and they say IPA is fine but good to check with your officer. Personally I ended up taking HDB loan instead to save the hassle.
