Can anyone advise or have recent experience, how long is the waiting period to renew SG passports?

they are now stating "The processing time for a passport is around one to two weeks upon ICA's receipt of the application. The processing time will be longer if your photograph does not meet the requirements."

It has always been the case, as long as I remember, they always add the remaining validity of the passport to its replacement.

As long as you do not expect to travel for the next 4 weeks, get your renewal done.

So you got a 5 years + whatever validity on your 'old passport' passport instead of a 10 years passport?! You got the lousier of the deal.

Yup. But for passports renewed and applied on/after 1 Oct 2021.

If you had to go for a trip before oct then no choice

If you go to those shophouse near to ICA take photo then most likely your photo should pass and waiting time around 2 weeks or less. I managed to collect my passport the next working day due to some issue.

I've just submitted my renewal application on 15th Jan, and on 17th Jan got the notification that I'm able to collect my passport from next week onwards.
Process time has certainly been cut short right now.

mths waiting time to renew passport, make new passport. The wave should be gone by now.

My pp expire in June, I apply on sep, my new pp validity starts from Sep so ur info is wrong
