Can anyone advise or have recent experience, how long is the waiting period to renew SG passports?

TIA

If you renew early, up to 9 months' validity can be transferred to the new one, so there is no disadvantage going for an early renewal.

they are now stating "The processing time for a passport is around one to two weeks upon ICA's receipt of the application. The processing time will be longer if your photograph does not meet the requirements."

per their website.

It has always been the case, as long as I remember, they always add the remaining validity of the passport to its replacement.
No longer since the increase to 10y

4 For citizens aged 16 and above, the passport validity will be capped at 10 years, in compliance with the International Civil Aviation Organisation’s (ICAO) recommendation. Therefore, when a citizen renews the passport, any remaining validity in the old passport cannot be added to the new passport.[2]

If you go to those shophouse near to ICA take photo then most likely your photo should pass and waiting time around 2 weeks or less. I managed to collect my passport the next working day due to some issue.

I've just submitted my renewal application on 15th Jan, and on 17th Jan got the notification that I'm able to collect my passport from next week onwards.
Process time has certainly been cut short right now.
