last time my BMT OC when he confine ppl as punishment, he won't just confine them and let them lobo whole day.

he will go around ask other coy if they got guard duty and then send the confined ppl to fill the guard duty slots of the other coy.

if he cannot find any guard duty slots then he will withheld the confinement until a guard duty slot is found.

If recruits don't do guard duty at BMTC then who does guard duty? The 3SGs? The 2LTs?

For the longest time recruits had to do guard duty just that they carried a baton and shield since they are not cleared to carry firearms.

Once pass out from BMT and go unit then you carry SAR-21/M-16 on guard duty unless you are one of those excuse firearms then you revert to the shield and baton.

You are in army.Army without a regimentation is not a army. If you are given a duty just do it. Dont compare, dont complain.

Unless it is really a personal attack and threat towards you, just do what you are told as long it is with in the scope of core values of SAF.

Anyway even for unit also depends on the set up of the camp. Last time in our camp, the main gate was guarded by RP 24/7 but after office hours the gate leading to our unit was closed and guard duty personnel from my unit watched the gate.

My previous NSF unit guard turn out very standard at 12am and 3am. After 3am, all commanders and guards (except those on duty) gathered inside guard bunk watch Champion League matches. Those days were they days SingTel aired UCL matches on air FOC.

iirc, bmt guard duty is the worst..you still have to join in for training the next day after your duty.

Try to approach that sergeant that kept aiming at you. Say that you have to speak up to him about an issue. You might find that even the most vulgar, or most "garang" sergeant can be a good listener. But you need to be tactful and approach him at the right time.

Don't lay low and keep the issue to yourself. It's not mentally healthy.

no more primary school la, just talk to the sergeant first. maybe just small misunderstanding. If cannot resolve then go OO.

Next time go work how? see mp to complain supervisor?

BMTC got so many coys, where got allocate so many guard duties for individual coys...

TS mentioned like as if always got guard duty for his coy to do...

Just call hotline if you feel that you are bullied. However You must have exhausted your avenues of help (I.e. Chain of command. Unit counseling officer etc).
