today was booking agoda, and realised with shopback, the price of room is 5% higher then without using shopback..

I cancelled and rebooked without shopback since shopback take ages to credit the cashback anyway.

agoda with credit card promo has better deal. eg, this month DBS have 20% off cap $40 if you start from DBS agoda landing site http://www.agoda.com/dbs . different month check different bank.

shopback credit can be catered to those who are back claiming expense.

not sure what u talking about. u can change currency to SGD and pay with Visa card and no additional fee will be impose. only mastercard got the 1% DCC as they use HK payment gateway to process it even when charged in SGD.

FYI. Agoda headoffice is in SG.

nope, so far all my transaction in SGD will kanna the FCC or DCC. (yes, I am on master card maybe that's why).
Agoda replied to me that they are not based in SG and thus even if I choose to pay in SGD is not considered local currency.

Use visa lor. In any case, the 18-20 % discount should more than negate the 1%dcc (unless u use dbs master and need to rebook from time to time).

1%dcc but can benefit from bank discount and card cashback is also worth.

Agoda for those pay later, can only be in usd right? I got one confirmed booking which is pay at later date. cant seems to change to SGD.

See if got expert can help you.
But my experience tells me that depending on which country hotel you booking, they will charge in that currency, or usd. Agoda is not clear in this area.

the hotel is in switzerland, but charging in USD.

one of the steps can see, even in USD, agoda is actually converting from Hotel local currency to USD is bad exchange, and then charged to us in USD....we may end up kanna double lousy exchange...

I usualy try to change the currency to the hotel local currency before I start the search, so that I can be charged in the local currency or direct USD.. trying out in my recent 4-5 booking in bkk, vietnam and Japan..
