Actually quite true also. Later learn too much all revolt against gahmen then they have a problem.Singapore like to keep u daft becos they only see u as a conscript
They dun train u like rambo becos u r just a mere foot soldier
All nsf knows the superficial level only

I would like to point out that the coast guard not only trains officers in the normal Taurus or now the new CZ pistols, but also the HK MP5, HK P2A1, M4 Carbine and the GPMG.
Some NSFs even get chosen to go for a specialization of the M4, as well as the HK MP5, to further train them in the marksmanship principles as well as mechanism of the weapons.
Some even have the chance to use the SAR 21, but only for ceremonial at NDP......
this is why i like PCG, all in small patrol vessels (like a squad's size) and being multi-disciplined capable of multi-missions.
U do realise there is a distinct difference in operations between coast guard & army right?I would like to point out that the coast guard not only trains officers in the normal Taurus or now the new CZ pistols, but also the HK MP5, HK P2A1, M4 Carbine and the GPMG.

PCG u are confined in a small boat & u operate in a small team. If sh*t happens u just have your team to depend on till help arrives. So of course u need to be self sufficient.
In peace time, army patrols to support SPF. Why would a patrol need to be armed with MP5 (police already have it) or GPMG (overkill)?
And in war time army moves out in company level which comprises a GPMG section with Matador gunners, etc. In the event the entire company is wiped out, u wouldnt even need to worry about the lone survivor knowing how to operate a GPMG or matador cos seriously one man cant do sh*t in war against superior numbers.
