maybe you need to flash the stock rom which will removed the root and makes your rom official again..

no, i mean just root without flashing custom ROM.. some of the guys here say flashing ROM will trigger Knox counter..

when sending for repair in stock ROM (but rooted)... even Knox not triggered, the staff there will know if the phone is rooted if they want to (eg, check if SuperUser, TitaniumBackup are installed, etc..)... so just need to delete those apps before sending?

Read the xda forum carefully before you use the method to root.. There is a csc and ap combo that will still trip the knox when rooting using LA Vegas method

Take heed.. Read more before doing so

Btw, so far I am still surviving without root. Thanks to helium

rooted using the Root de la Vega method.

Now, there is OTA update being downloaded automatically. I wouldn't want to risk allowing it to update, but the reminder keep popping up every 3 hours, and the OTA icon is always up there in the notification bar. Anyone know how to make the OTA reminder and OTA icon disappear?

TIA

It's just say "improved stability". Size is 30.01 MB, I don't know if it is firmware related or not. I don't want to risk trying to install it. But seeing the icon there somehow irritates me :p

@grey-fox,
What's your current firmware build or AP? MJ1?
XXUBMI7 -- that will be the AP file I downloaded from xda, according to what *#1234# tells me.

@aroana: thanks, I did that, and so far no problem as well -- except that I had some bluetooth pairing issue with my SocBlue SIM, but after a reboot the pairing works fine.
