MJ7 is now avail for Singapore. Is MOP the only way to upgrade with root and knox 0x0? Need to wipe from MOP?

I uninstalled all the KIES stuff from my phone... now cannot install... lol.
so use the firmware from Sammobile and update via Mobile Odin?

If you're already rooted and would like to upgrade, MOP is the only way without tripping the KNOX.
If unrooted, then OTA, Kies and PC Odin will do. But once you update to MJ7 and would like to root, then you got a problem tripping the Knox as the new FW got the new bootloader that previous ways of rooting is no longer possible without getting the x0x1

I just got my Note 3 a few days ago, AP is N9005XXUBMJ1 and CSC is N9005OLBBMI3. I just want to root it because some of the aps I'd like to use requires root.
So correct me please if I'm wrong.
Step 1: Root it using the Root de la Vega method.
Step 2: Then use Mobile Odin Pro to upgrade to MJ7.
In the event of a warranty claim, just do a factory reset before sending it back?

contacts, photos, etc (lol. although it's just a matter of copying them to my PC but last night the PC cannot detect my phone zzz)

Took the plunge and update to MJ7 using MOP without wipe. So far so good.
