By the way, any rooted user on 4.4 that uses FolderMount? The last time I upgraded from 4.3 to 4.4 and all hell break loose for foldermount, causing me to re-flash and trip Knox.

Missing the foldermount functionality, and is wondering if they solved the problem with Note3 kitkat.

I am using XNote. Quite good and stable. Especailly like the DPI manipulation that is integrated into the ROM, now I can make the keyboard very small and have more screen to see the app (for example whatsapp). It is also nice that they added power button and home button to the top navigation bar. Handy.

Which XNote version? flash using MOP?

I am using XNote version 10, but I think now there is version 12 already, haven't tried.

I flashed using CWM recovery, although I see no reason why MOP cannot be used.

EDIT: I stand corrected, there's already XNote Version 13  based on NC2 codebase.

The Samsung Warranty is crap la, my father-in-law's S3 had its firmware wiped out because he downloaded a malicious software. I was away in China, so I asked him to send in to Samsung, Samsung claimed that the motherboard is fried and cannot be repaired.

When I return, I reflash the ROM and guess what... the phone restarted with memory intact!

I wouldn't be so uptight about Samsung's Warranty. Unless its hardware failure which is quite rare for Samsung.

So much for Samsung Service Centre...

Agree, proud owner of all 3 notes series, and I have never visited the samsung service center, except to exchange a faulty 64gb SD Card (which has life warranty).

So, for those who want to root their note, my advice is just do so and set your phone free. Hewlan the Knox lah.

My friend had her s3 fail on her one day, refuse to boot up. Sent in to service center, they replaced the mobo for her. Shortly after, my phone (s3 also) started to act up (can't recall why now) and also got a mobo replacement. So not taking any chances with my note 3.

Just installed XNote 13.0 on my Note 3, loving it. Been rooting all my Android phones, the Warranty Knox will be cracked soon and we can then reverse the parity and revalidate the warranty :)

I think all stock roms are archived in sam mobile. Do a firmware search for SM-N9005.

The following link is for generic singapore stock ROM (XSP):
Firmwares | SamMobile

Loving my rooted Note 3, instant solutions from the community (i.e. S-Cover issue), no need to wait for Samsung...
