Just want to contribute as a fellow Home Theatre enthusiast:

It's not THAT expensive to set up your own HT.
I used to stay in a 3-room flat. In my bedroom, i just put the small projector at my bedside table, pointing it at the wall opp. the bed.

So, we just lie down on the bed, and watch happily.

Items:
- projector, which I got for $500, second-hand
- akira dvd player, (so cheap nowadays) HT system, with 5 speakers and sub-wwofer. For me, i put the back 2 speakers, at either bed posts, beside our heads
The front 2 speakers, below the bed in front, center spkr in front of the projected wall.
Subwoofer below bed, somewhere.

That's it, rent some dvd, and play it, and enjoy the cinema in your own house.

I started on this, after GV and other cinema prices are going through the roof.
Believe me, HT is actually much cheaper than going to the movies, if you're a cinema buff watching many movies.

sorry bro, what is a HT system?

trying to get a 2nd hand projector, same idea as you, put in my guest room as a movie room. Using the wall as a projection area, is it too blurry?

I got my room done up with almost the same as in the pics. I got my theatre set which was not bad from Home Theatre Singapore and it turned my room into a mini cinema whereby i can lie back in my cosy big bed and enjoy my movies. You may wanna try their service if you are looking for home theatre. The service they provide was quite good.
