I got my 215 last week. Actually I find the sound very similar to my previous earphone the sony mdr ex300 but with much better noise isolation. But i doubt a lot of ppl have the ex300 lol.

I'm not a audiophile but I know SE215 is really something.

It's all subjective. As a new user, I really like it because of the clarity + good highs + good lows + average bass. I can hear sounds I've never heard in some of my tracks before.

To me the most important part is the mids above highs and lows cause that is where alot of sounds are produced.

So far only problem is the bass, but I guess it is because the IEM's are new, am going to burn-in them for a week, as for now, it is getting better ;D

Hope my personal review helps.

*also my dad who works in the recording studio for over 20 years tested my SE215 for me and he said it was good except for bass and very little problem on the mids. he thinks its a really neat IEM except for the fact that it is IEM (prefers OEM, comfort maybe?)

I guess whats good about the SE215 is it can handle different genres relatively well, hence the rave reviews and hype about it.

Have this for a day, out of the box the bass was one uncontrollable raging beast. Is like a subwoofer gone haywire. Almost dumped it in the bin straightaway.

About a day later the bass became alot more listenable tho it still feels a tad detached from the overall music. Nevertheless the overall music is always lively and smooth, the typical Shure characteristic.

Compared to its older sibling the SE210, the mids feel a little thinner and which results in the effect that some vocal are less emotional sounding and piano parts less "attack" . But u get smooth non-ear piercing highs and more rumble, so its not bad a tradeoff esp if u listen to a wider range of music.

Quite sure haven't burn-in completely yet, but very satisfied with it overall as a casual listener.

I passed by Stereo today and I realize that the SE 215 retail box looks somewhat different from the one in earphonesolutions. Look at this attachment. I think the grey area in the pic is blue from what I see in Stereo

Anyone able to verify?
