Doesn't matter. Only the date you entered need to be from 2nd June onward. I entered "Others" and "DIY" for my PC brand/model respectively..

hmm, wait. i see that they have this upgrade assistant to check.. prolly will check for license as well.

but, easy workaround by using a legit laptop to download and get the file. then can use the iso to install on pirate pc.

u are safe once u get your windows 8 cd key.. install or not doesnt matter..

wa swee just bought it. installing it now.. 10% complete only. hopefully my games will still work on the new windows 8 os. anyway, if i install windows 8, will the old windows 7 os data still be in my comp? how do i get rid of it? SSD no space alr lol

May need to install the driver from tp-link, check the driver name for the wireless adaptor. Found Win 8 installed RA-link driver for my tp-link wireless adaptor, causing it to be unstable.
