i put my laptop brand and model down and use desktop to dl and install no problems whatsoever.

Ok, thanks. Means, you use the upgrade assistant from your desktop, and then download using your desktop. Then the program just bring over to your laptop to upgrade your laptop to Win 8 is it?

But come out with Windows 8 cheap all people chiong. Dunno how many millions of ppl gonna pay $18 for the upgrade.

most important is the product key. as long as you have it, can alr.

For me... i just install it into my laptop... its sooner or later.... afterall windows 8 did improve better in terms of performance.... not to mention e elimination of windows startup icon... jus use it more often n u will get used to it...

Help needed! I chose to install clean and clear my C drive to make 20GB available. Mod way of installing my lappie shut down accidentally. Now I dunno where it saves the ISO file my default. Really appreciate if someone could help pls.

Strange to me it prompt me for the key when I run from the cd for fresh install after that all done. Don't need to do anything or activate anything

yea that is the point I am talking about. If I register and activate my real key using VM will I be able to use it on my com in future? or maybe notebook I haven decided yet. I am currently working on a few project and I cannot upgrade on my main com yet

U save the files as ISO??
Then we cannot help liao ba...since only U will know where U ask the WIN8 assistant to save the ISO to.

But if your installation is the same as mine...WIN8 assistant actually made a folder in this path:
c:\esd

The folder size is the same as my ISO.
So maybe U can direct to this path and see if U can continue your installation on your lappy.

Hope it works for U, and do plug it into power mains.
