True that's besides the point. But the point I'm trying to make is, don't be fooled into thinking AWS is a bonus.

Actually having no AWS is better than having AWS. You are being disadvantaged by having AWS.

before you sign on, think about this:

those years you are in the army, you could have advanced your career in whatever chosen field.

if you intend to take the money, serve the years, then return to the civilian workforce, do note that you start out fresh with no relevant experience, but a few years older than your peers. and employers may take that into consideration.
