But really.. it also depends on what you're planning to buy.
If it's a complete system with main parts like CPU+RAM+Mobo+PSU, I would look for good service as well (PCT). This is because *IF* you happen to run into problems and run out of luck troubleshooting, you can bring the bundle down and look forward to some friendly help.

If you're just planning to buy "ala-carte" items to upgrade like RAM, peripherals, you can shop for the cheapest.
I usually go to Cybermind for their peripherals/SD card. Rest like Bizgram is also cheap I guess..

why VP (physical store) no good leh?
Looking at the clause on their price list will drive people nuts.

And they also can anyhow come out with crap reasoning to raise certain products by $3-10. Happened before to me. Didn't buy their story. Went to good trusty shop. And its' cheaper.

true story! wanted to buy item listed on their qoo store, but when i went down to get it they actually quoted me 20% more which is kind of ridiculous.

On the subject of SLS shops, if you are looking to purchase a mobo and CPU together, are there anywhere else that can beat the combo price at SLS? I have had a look around but i think for the above cheapest will be at SLS. Even amazon also cannot compete.

It's true some shops are shady. They usually see the customer if he is foreigner or blur blur sort. Then will decide to chop him or not.

Last time I was browsing in a SLS shop for a PSU. Saw one angmoh walked in. The angmoh asked about the availability of an item and the price, as stated on the price list. The salesman tried to smoke him say the price in the price list does not include GST.

I thought IRAS already stated clearly any price quoted by retailers must be nett and inclusive of GST? But SLS is cowboy town.

I've never seen such blatant chop carrots before but even reputable stores will also up-sell components that are way beyond the needs of customers especially the customers are not tech savvy. For example, 850W PSUs to very simple builds.

You better check clearly with the shop regarding the price.

What Amazon quotes you is the final amount you have to pay. Upfront, honest and transparent.

SLS shop pricing? Depending on shop, their way of quoting a price are different. Wait till you say you confirm buying then the final amount is different, with all the hidden surcharges surfacing.

Paying by NETS or credit card? Add more.
Not full system purchase? Add more.
Price quoted does not include GST? Add more.
Some even more blatant say sudden change in price today or last hour. Price in price list no longer valid when you already take out your wallet. Add more.

I will recommend PC Themes because Yi Long is very helpful and friendly.
Last month, I bought an Asus X99-Deluxe II motherboard & i7 6950x Extreme CPU from PC Themes.
