Got accepted into UOL but considering RMIT part time now as I can work full time to earn the money to help support my family. Not a need but a want at the same time.
I am also aware of the 100% exam based grading and I feel that there is little chance to perform in that aspect at UOL. If not going to be able to hit 1st class then all is not worth it at UOL already.
Here to seek opinions with you guys here at RMIT.
Btw their RMIT website says there is honours for the 4 years course. Doubt through SIM can get so I believe only if you study at RMIT then you can get right.
Also, anyone taking full time job and studying RMIT part time? How's managing it? I believe it would be much more manageable when compared to UOL part time and work full time?
Experience is one other thing that is pulling me to RMIT part time.
I also think that if I were to be from JC (reasonable grades but not high enough to get into a local U) and got into UOL, then UOL would be a better choice. But I come from Poly with a Dip in Engineering IT so I am doubting my abilities to get 1st class at UOL.
Sadly, I am a little too late to only consider this now so I have missed the July intake. My next intake available is 2014 January.
Am I making a wise choice? Need recommendations!
you will be more busy at RMIT actually cos theres projs and tests (differ across progs and modules) in addition to exams. during term time, UOL students are more relaxed but once its few months before exams, UOL will be damn stressed, more stressed than RMIT cos their exams are their everything.
the RMIT honours year is only offered in Aust. but i doubt most people do that, cos a pass degree is able to gain entry into Aust unis masters. UOL is 3-year direct honours so 'more worth it' in that sense but damn hard to get 1st class.
let me illustrate for u: study both progs pt vs working ft
for rmit:
july/aug to sept/oct: projs and tests
oct: study for exams
late oct to nov: exams
nov to dec: holidays
jan to mar/early apr: (new sem) projs and tests
apr: study for exams
late apr to may: exams
may to june: holidays
(projs can be more 'stressful' sometimes than exams. exams definitely can pass if u study for it. not to say its easy but easier than UOL)
for uol:
aug/sept to dec: lessons (most ppl quite relaxed here)
jan: some ppl will start studying for exams already
feb to mar: lessons end + study for exams + prelims (not graded)
apr: cont' study for exams
may: exams
late may/june to aug: holidays
aug: results release + start new academic year
(the 'study for exams' period is damn stressful cos u are studying 1 whole year coursework)
btw, why not consider unisim as well. their progs are specially catered to pt students but i heard not that easy as well.
