Point 2a is kinda a deal killer imo. ONT is the ISP's demarcation point and responsibility of it should lie with the ISP so long you remain subscribed to their service.
I'm starting to think the local ISPs can't really go too much under $30/mth without some sort of compromises.
edit: Simba fibre looks like the MVNO of fibre services

See your luck your with SIMBA ONT. I have changed a grand total of " 0 " ONT since I signed up with M1 since 201530/month and locked you for 2 years, after taking into account the 14/15 dollar monthly fees to NLT, they will earn 360 dollars over the next 2 years. Any freebies like free installations, ONT, free router etc.... will eat into this 360.
To maintain this 360, they can still do 25 dollars but lock you for 3 years instead of 2.
Someone mentioned the replacement cost of the ONT is 30 dollars after the 1-year warranty, so if every 12 months need to change a new one, then the cost will increase by 2.5/month.
Hmm, I think only Whizcomms is kind of MVNO for Fibre Internet services as they use Singtel infrastructure.
I think SIMBA may provide Value Added Service on top of the current 2.5Gbps base plan in the future, for example, wireless router and mesh solution, Static IPv4 address and security related add-ons

My speed test![]()
ONT -> udmse -> sfp+ 2.5gbe switch to my PC
Okay la, when SimbaTPG goes to one market, that market the price will drop drop. Hopefully they open supermarket next..Ideally we all like to have same or better service level with cheaper price, right ? But it doesn't really happen in real life 99.9% of the time![]()
I don't think the likelihood of this happening for consumer plans are high, but one can dream.or, they can provide customers with SFP+ ready routers, direct fibre input. then the ONT issue is moot![]()

Competition from Whizcomms

but whizcomm is aggregate speed of 2.5Gbps
taken from their faq
FibrePlus allows a maximum aggregate speed of 2.5Gbps. While each individual connection is up to 1Gbps, the maximum capacity of your home broadband network will be unlocked to 2.5Gbps. This removes congestion for your home broadband network and allows more users and devices to enjoy uncompromised speeds of up to 1Gbps.
Recently I had my ONT die after what seemed like... a decade? i can't even remember, according to M1 its in warranty as long as you are subscribed.30/month and locked you for 2 years, after taking into account the 14/15 dollar monthly fees to NLT, they will earn 360 dollars over the next 2 years. The way GPON is, direct fiber input won't be supported. Sianz.or, they can provide customers with SFP+ ready routers, direct fibre input. then the ONT issue is moot
yeah, the initial advertising was $20/month. then, based on the pilot pricing, its just shy of $25 (factoring in the other costs eg buy your own ONT from them). But if they really can deliver 2.5Gbps at $25 reliabily ie no need to call help desk, then its a good deal
