Unless you need to switch SIM cards around (for whatever reason), it's so much more convenient. Just sign up with the telco online, scan a QR code & done.

Already a lot of reports in this thread that it is more than usable.

For the countries Singaporeans normally travel to, it's one of the most affordable options.
it is easily convenient getting a physical card, and much more convenient when switching phones. i still no use for esim today. they should remove the fees to switch phones, if they really want to encourage the use and reduce waste.

You still have to physically go to a store, or wait for a delivery to get a physical SIM card. It's hard to argue that that's more convenient than an email & scanning a QR code... I would also imagine that for most people, switching phones is not something you do often anyhow so...

But I do agree that the fees to switch phones for eSIM is a rather crummy cash grab from the telcos. One can only hope that with more demand for eSIM from customers, there will be more competition & telcos will make eSIM switching easier & more friendly.

well, isn't that what most people r doing today to get their simcard? telcos have shops everywhere. it is not difficult at all. scanning QR code may not work all the time, based on the feedback seen here. then it becomes frustrating to resolve it.

anyway, i believe there is no major advantage using esim for now. if it is that good, all telcos will be pushing it down consumers' throats, but this is not the case, for now. i also hope to use esim one day, but not now.

I googled the pros of eSIM over physical SIM and read that eSIM consumes less battery. any users of eSIM feel the improvement ?

If you are using Android phone, you need to set APN to TPG, unless your phone able to detect by itself

In fact you just let it auto select. Or it might not ready yet, if you port over.

Yes, it’s more for the future. I will switch to esim once it is more convenient than now.

Thanks. issue resolved.

Was told by simba customer service rep at their service center that it will be done during midnight but it did not happened.

so in the noon got a msg from simba again to say it is successfully ported over and it works like magic.

Thanks

Line not successfully ported but you still can surf data, sounds like a template excuse instead of the real reason to me.
