https://support.simba.sg/hc/en-us/a...-I-port-in-my-existing-Prepaid-Plan-to-SIMBA-
This is confirm chop. Suay me that time didnt get this option even though i walked in to their Orchard Central shop.
https://support.simba.sg/hc/en-us/a...-What-are-the-eligibilities-for-mobile-plans-
Actually even those on work passes or LTVP also can apply for postpaid. So I imagine the prepaid is for those on STVP maybe. But I heard how some manage to use their prepaid with some perks using top-top from online shopping platform
Anyway back to my simba prepaid. I am paying by giro, thus its auto renewing.

postpaid can top up @ shopee
if q10 back already, please notify, I've got a lot coins and afraid they close down

New to SIMBA. Anyone know what's the difference between Sim-only 100GB plan and Prepaid 100GB plan?

Saw both are $10/30days with the same features:
100GB data
1GB roaming data (Group A)
Unlimited Calls to Local Mobile
Unlimited SMS to SIMBA Mobile
300 Local Fixed Line Minutes
30 Local SMS

I'm also curious, so I asked Simba Customer Support. Below is their e-mail reply:

Thank you for reaching out to SIMBA Customer support.

The postpaid and prepaid plans are the same when it comes to the inclusions.

For prepaid:

For postpaid:

Should you need further assistance please let us know.

Is 5g a default for simba plan or need to top up
5G is still on trial now for SIMBA and it's available for their users. You must have a supported handset and in the coverage area. It's kind of weird, that some people was able to get 5G, while some others don't. Sometimes it's also because of firmware updates. I remember i was able to receive 5G after a firmware update.

many foreign students and workers use. When they just landed in SG, only got passport and no pass, can only use prepaid. Then prepaid number tied to band, etc, don't want to change number. So continue to use prepaid

I am using Simba and noticed that my connection speed is somewhat slow, my phone shows LTE consistently for the pass months.

Just tested with http://www.speedtest.com.sg , the average download speed is 12Mbps and upload speed is 2Mpbs.

Is this the normal speed for SIMBA ?

I wonder those recent ported in eg myself, are the provided SIM cards compatible with 5G too?

IMHO.
I would say 12Mbps and 2Mbps is faster than the usual speed I get.

Just FYI,

At 12Mbps -- you have more than sufficient bandwdith to watch 2 x FULL HD (1080p) Youtube streams at the same time !!
(1080p Youtube only requires 5Mbps -- see this link)

It is worth stating that:
* Mobile data speed/bandwidth can vary greatly between locations.
* Mobile data speed/bandwidth can vary greatly at the exact same location -- between different telcos.

(Actually if you've have used mobile data for at least a year or more -- and have more than 1 mobile line from different telcos -- you should already know the above)

SIMBA is relative new MNO telco in SG (i.e. not MVNO telco).
It's only been 3+ years since they started commercial operations in SG.
(compared big brother telco like Singtel -- SIMBA is still a toddler/baby.)

SIMBA is (still) improving in terms of coverage & bandwidth.
(if you have used SIMBA much earlier in the days when they were called TPG -- you would know their improvements till today have been quite significant)

This means different people can have vastly different experiences -- using SIMBA.

At this post, @keenklee shows SIMBA speed test results in the single digit.
(not sure where is the location when @keenklee took the above speed test on SIMBA -- I just assume it's his home.)

In my home -- SIMBA speed test (download) can vary from 70+Mbps to 90+Mbps.

At the shopping centre closest to my home -- SIMBA speed test can vary greatly from below 50Mbps to almost 100Mbps.

At the barber shop I go to -- SIMBA is in the 10+Mbps range.
(similar to your average SIMBA speed)

At my relative's house, SIMBA speed test (download) can reach more than 100Mbps.

In fact, SIMBA works relative well in my relative's house such that my relative's helper -- who uses SIMBA 100GB plan -- don't even bother to ask my relative for the house WiFi password. Haha..

**
12Mbps bandwidth is NOT zero bandwidth.

Having said the above..

Of course if you do deem (average) 12Mbps as a problem -- the good news is SIMBA has no contract, so you can always port to another telco.

My location has been in existence for > 10 years.
TPG, being new and MNO, has every opportunity to built a good network for connectivity and speed.

Perhaps you could have missed out this important point.

* Mobile data speed/bandwidth can vary greatly at the exact same location with the same telco at different time of the day.

Let me share my usual speed with TPG

Time / Download / Upload
1452 / 3.96 / 3.86
1403 / 3.93 / 1.66
1011 / 2.15 / 0.73
0834 / 1.91 / 1.09
0645 / 36.7 / 1.61

Looking at your home speed, you can test Zym and Heya.Sg, easily exceed 100 Mbps and many time faster in upload speed. Also no contract. YMMV.

P.S. I am being nice saying 12 Mbps. :ROFLMAO:

Singtel is also dependant on areas. I tested Zym 4G and Zero1 4G. Around 10mbps only in my area.

But as for upload, Singtel is much faster than Simba. Simba upload is around 4mbps or lower most of the time.

Generally, connectivity is location depend and that affects the maximum speed.
In your area, both are Singtel MVNOs, very likely is connectivity issue i.e. far from the LTE base station.
You're better off with another provider.

In my location with TPG, it is unlikely to be a connectivity issue as can be seen in one of the speedtest.
It is likely caused by the limited download bandwidth.
