Has your SIMBA SIM card been provisioned with 5G?
Are you trying to pull a fast one?

Simba website:
No registration is required! All SIM-only plan subscribers (excluding Prepaid) who have a compatible 5G smartphone will automatically be provisioned with 5G NSA services. For more information on compatible 5G smartphones and our 5G coverage areas, please check out our FAQs section below.

Nobody is trying to pull a fast one. at least not on someone like you...

According to their FAQ, it states the following:

You will need the following to experience 5G:
  • a compatible 5G device (supports NR n40 band) that is configured to SIMBA’s 5G network (for mmWave connectivity, the device must support NR n257 and/or n258) and set to 5G mode for the appropriate SIM Slot (for dual SIM devices).
  • be within SIMBA’s 5G coverage areas. (You can still access the SIMBA network on 4G when you are not within 5G coverage areas).
  • SIMBA network will automatically detect 5G compatible devices and enable the 5G NSA network service at no additional cost. You will also receive an SMS to confirm that you are accessing our 5G NSA service
Maybe the device that you're using is considered incompatible to be provisioned with 5G.

You should be barking with SIMBA and not me.

Why should I bark when I dun expect 5G with Simba at all. Someone is selling 5G on Simba so I am just trying to set the right expectations.

You're the one that suggests need sim card to be provisioned, which is totally wrong.

Now change story to say phone is not compatible, which is covered in the faq.

Most folks have already shared here they cannot get 5G anywhere and seems like Simba has switched off 5G.

But still got people selling Simba 5G here and setting the wrong expectations. Then we'd hear them complaining here.

If got 5G people will be sharing the locations and speedtests already.
IMHO.
Actually I don't know now got people using Simba 5G or not.
I used to be able to connect until I upgraded my mobile's firmware.
In fact, I got a NEW mobile because I want to try Simba 5G. :ROFLMAO:

Having issues one week after using SIMBA roaming. Was okay but suddenly cannot use while in the same country (Greece ). Instead of 4G it shows E (for EDGE?). occasionally it shows up as 2G. But data is not able to be used regardless.

I checked APN and there were two for Orange and one for TPG, it was on Orange. not able to change to any other carrier except the problematic one (Cosmote). My friend with me on SIMBA also facing same issue on the same day.

Did all the basic troubleshooting including APN but it's been more than 24 hours still same issue.

Anyone experienced similar and managed to fix? SIMBA cust svc not very helpful so far.

Likely is the overseas telco issue.
My indirect experience is if cannot connect, there is only so much one can do.
Just to find out, can SMS come in although there is no connection to data?
Good to have contingency overseas.

I am not sure whether anyone has shared the information below before.

Visit the link https://www.simba.sg/help for SIMBA's e-services.

Thank you.
IMHO.
Here is the shortcut before contact them.

1. Delete & re-add the SIMBA APN settings
2. Turn off/on your handset to refresh the network.
3. Do a manual network selection & connect to our partner provider. See the list of network provider here
4. For Dual SIM handset, test the SIM on the other SIM slot.
5. Test the SIM on another 4G ready handset (if available)

Always check if your mobile number is roaming ready before leaving the country.

To check if your SIM is roaming ready, SMS <SIMBA> to 1218 if you are in Singapore or DIAL *1218# if you are overseas. Your usage details will be sent to your number via SMS.

On-device settings, please ensure the following:

Data settings: Turn on Data Roaming
Network selection: Set to Automatic
APN settings: Key in TPG to Name and APN

I did experienced edge network before while roaming in Europe. I manually switch to another network operator and its back to normal 4G/5G.

It boils down to the network availability of that particular area in the city or town. Operators overseas is not like our Singapore operators have to meet 99% outdoor coverage

No idea about SMS, but since it's connected to a Telco I believe it should still work..

Not sure why I'm not able to switch. It tries to register but keeps saying it's not available. I can see the Telco but just cannot connect. My friend is also having the same exact issue and we both cannot resolve/change carrier even though I'm on Android and friend is on iPhone.
