Simba excess local / roaming data chargeable? last time simba just stopped u from using when limit is reached.
Of course need to pay to continue, ie topup your wallet

Yes deduction will be from your wallet but not the full $4 will be deducted at once eg Group A destinations = $4 per GB / $0.04 per 10MB ie 4 cents per 10MB - pay as you used.

The $10.50 (200gb) and $12 plan (200gb) will revert back to which plans after 6 months?

If you change from $10.50 to $12 plan will still get 200gb? Hee.
I was gonna get the $12 plan, but now change my mind, cos its only 200GB local data for the first 6 months, then 130GB after that. And I am not travelling any time soon within the next 6 months, so no point give SIMBA extra $2, even if its just $2. Would rather not donate unnecessarily to SIMBA.

Your $10.50 is the same 200GB local data, but less roaming data I think (1GB versus 2GB) and IDD (100 mins versus 300 mins). You open your SIMBA app and check the details there. I think your plan is 200GB for first 6 cycles, then 100GB thereafter. See here.

By the time I lock down travel date(s) if any, maybe SIMBA will have even more compelling offer.

I think it should work fine. I roamed in neighbouring country, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg before.

I think all of the 3 countries use the same apn and telco orange. Data worked well. But there are few mini spots in Brussells where I got only H+ or E. Doesn't affect me as when I moved away from that blind spot, it went back to 4G. There were 5G in Luxembourg and Finland.
May I know. you on data roaming to pay extra to simba? do you also using simba voice app. I am so confused.

I have $12 in my wallet already. So my $10.50 plan will auto renew on 16th (my cycle expiry) or do I need to do anything.

I feel like the SIMBA call app is only needed for phones that do not support VoLTE.
If your phone supports VoLTE, you do not need the app at all. In any countries.

When I was in Malaysia, Thailand or Japan, incoming calls go directly to my native call app. No need to use SIMBA call app.
I believe most likely, even for European countries, will still go into your native call app.

to be fair when people calls you, it doesn’t matter if it’s the native phone app or the simba voice app, just make sure that the notifications are turned on for the app

for calling out, just gotta try calling with your native phone app first if you die die want to use the native phone app, if it doesn’t work then the simba voice app definitely works based on my past experience so if you want reliability you can just use simba voice app straight because sometimes even though they list countries as volte is supported, it just doesn’t work i don’t know why, but the simba voice app always works

On $5 Senior plan. If I top up $10, my plan will auto deduct $5 each month, so it can last two months without top up? If I breach sms/voice/data limit, the plan wouldn't auto deduct from the $10?
Any excesses will be deducted from your wallet. So currently you have $10 but if you exceed any free items eg Roaming, then deduction will be from your wallet.

How long does Simba send out the Sim card? I applied on Monday midnight--240312 0200hrs. Today still have not receive the Sim card.

SG is a tiny ~800sqKm island, don't think the logistic would take that long. If Simba is so inefficient to send out, I guess their service is not much better. I don't have much confident in them already. :cautious:

Don't care if the local reception is good or bad, getting it for the 50GB MY roaming. Going to stay at airBnB whole house, they may not provide wifi. My MY friend used to use digi 4G unlimited, their 5 members family clock 100GB+ each months so 50GB should be enough for 3~5 days of stay, even for video viewing on tablet, I guess.

So I'm unlucky to wait 3 whole working day and still not receive it, Darn!

Just for the record, I port to 3 other MVNO this month. The zero1 took 2 days, and 2 more days to port over; ZYM took 3 days, and 2 more days to port; M1 Maxx took just ONE day to receive and no extra charge, also 2 days to port over. This Simba is the worst, even MVNO is better.

When did you last use Simba?

In the last 2 years, they:
1. Bought new 2100MHz spectrum which doubled speed in low signal situations
2. Updated their CA configs to be less shitty in low signal situations
3. Increased the number of base stations by 30%

Any idea what will be the typical download speed for the Simba 5G Standalone network ( coming soon)? TIA!

Their 5G SA will only have 10MHz of spectrum on band n1. Maybe 100Mbps if you're lucky.

The draw of 5G SA is about how it better utilises spectrum and supports new technologies like VoNR, not always about pure speed. In Simba's case, their 5G SA will be faster than 4G on the same band, but their 4G is already so slow, so 5G just needs to reach 100Mbps to be faster lol.

Simba doesn't have enough spectrum for 1Gbps+ 5G unlike the traffic light telcos.
