Weekly testing is different states of Malaysia, somehow still umobile is the fastest.. No need speed test, just loading this forum alone can tell the speed difference 🤣

So gotta manual select umobile and then back sg need to manual select back simba.

How do u get speed for umobile? What speed did you get? I just realize simba have umobile in Malaysia. I was using celcom in Malaysia for roaming, and the speed is really bad.

I also used umobile in JB. Speed is definitely better than celcom

I don't bother doing speed test.. Cos even Eyeball can see when loading simple this forum, it's slower on celcom.. And I travel around Malaysia often... So I can tell umobile is more superior

So troublesome that is not auto select? Is like giga, auto connect to digi and data will not work as they only partner with umobile and Maxis so everytime go Malaysia will definitely need to manual switch network.

Like my parents always complain to me, roaming no data coz they forgot how to switch after teaching them despite data roaming is on. Auto connect to any roaming network is the best for elderly.

Umobile is Sg “owned” so I think data packets are routed directly back to Sg whereas for Celcom data might travel around the world before reaching Sg. 😂

Troublesome.. But if you're at a mall for half a day and you need it to work, best to manual select umobile than auto celcom 😂

But it's painful to manual switch to Umobile and then got to remember to switch back to simba when reach sg..

Not to mention, sometimes umobile got certain blind spots too... So will receive notification of total no network..

Everyone know cruise WIFI subscription is very ex. Did anyone managed to connect to roaming while out at sea, while cruising along coastal land?

Eg: Caribbean Cruise SIN - Penang - Phuket

Usually can only connect to satellite instead of network operator, have to get special plan for that. Coverage from operator usually cant reach you when out at sea

On my Royal Caribbean cruise from Penang to Singapore last year, I opted out of the Wi-Fi. The prices were unreasonable, and I wanted to disconnect and truly relax.

On the return voyage to Singapore, mobile signal was practically non-existent throughout the ship, including the rooms and balconies. I only managed to find a weak signal on the top deck, which predominantly connected to Indonesian networks as I sails slightly closer to Indonesia than Malaysia. Do note that the internet will be very slow.

I did this experiment on both Zym and Simba, both works.

Recent cruise to Penang. Only closer to Penang, then able to have signal. Must be on deck 5 or 14 open areas.
