Is 5G actually just that no 5G here, too many ppl simba already few months ago start to slow down everywhere

The last round in November or December, i can't remember which month. They also have this message before announcing the "deals".

Initially, i thought it will be a SIMBA The Lion King announcing the completion of Merger with M1. End up, meow.

Let's see tomorrow if it's ROAR... or meow 🐈 Hopefully, really the annoucement of the merger as it's time for annual report

Last week my partner & I were in Xi'an for 7 days - both on SIMBA's Senior Plan. I'd 0.21GB balance after the trip; partner's was 0.99GB balance - I didn't surf as much as when I'm in SG though.

I'd another SIMBA's PrePaid $12 with 18GB for China etc which I gave to a friend, on the same tour, to use - she used nearly 4GB.

Most times we were allocated 4G by CTC (I presume China Telecom). 99.9% was good, only on one occasion all SIMBA's subscribers on tour had no signals, even trying airplane mode on/off, change APN, on/off phone, manual choosing other Telcos (which was rejected) etc.

Finally it worked by switching in phone's settings (Preferred Network Type) to focus on 4G without option for 5G. It was only a small hiccup. Much later when I switched back to have Auto 5G the issue didn't arise again 🤷‍♀️

Signal coverage was very good, whether high up in the hills, deep down in the vallies, deep undergrounds, highways etc...

Added:
Didn't use hotel WiFi at all as Google, Whatsapp etc cannot be accessed.

Let's see if the promo will also be applicable at other authorized retailers islandwide.

Otherwise, if the promotion is only at Marina Square, then we will soon see news on mothership, stomp and Facebook. Seniors standing up from their PMAs to top up their account.

  • All promotions are valid only within the promotional period as stated for each specific offer.

Mobile Promotion

  • SIMBA credits can only be credited into a SIMBA wallet of a SIMBA phone number with an active subscription. If the credit is made to a SIMBA wallet of an inactive SIMBA phone number, such credit will be forfeited immediately and the customer agrees to the forfeiture without recourse.
Port-in Promotion

  • The promotional period for the port-in promotion is 5 March 2026 to 8 March 2026. This promotion can only be redeemed at the SIMBA 6 Years Strong Event held at Marina Square.
  • $20 SIMBA credits will be awarded to all persons who submit their port in request within the promotional period, and the port in to SIMBA is completed before 13 March 2026, 23:59h
  • Receive a voucher booklet with every transaction.
  • This promotion is applicable for all SIMBA postpaid and prepaid mobile plans, except for Business plans. The $20 SIMBA credits will be credited into the subscriber's SIMBA wallet by 20 March 2026, 23:59h.
  • Credits cannot be exchanged for cash or other gifts. SIMBA reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions without prior notice.
  • Other terms and conditions apply.
Recharge Promotion

  • The promotional period for the Recharge promotion is 5 March 2026 to 8 March 2026. This promotion can only be redeemed exclusively at SIMBA 6 Years Strong Event.
  • $20 SIMBA credits and a voucher booklet will be awarded to all subscribers who recharge $20 into their SIMBA wallet. The promotional credits will be credited into the SIMBA wallet where the eligible recharge was made to. Each SIMBA mobile number is eligible to a maximum of $180 recharge.
  • Credits cannot be exchanged for cash or other gifts. SIMBA reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions without prior notice.

SIMBA 6 Years Strong Event - Photo Contest
