Totally agree, I am also in the look out for 'real' Telco on less than 20$ deal. If sh, m1, or St have good deal at 15$ inclusive of caller id and such, it's worth a jump!

Of course this TPG is a no brainer at this moment due to the 100gb, free data roaming into some countries, free caller id, etc ..
The Big Three cannot reduce prices to that low because they have a brand to maintain.
Plus also, it's clear that SIMBA (TPG) is here to stay, toxic price war has mostly slowed or ended.

Just get SIMBA (TPG) as a secondary line to pair with Big Three (or MVNOs) for low rates, large data.

One thing to confirm is that whether you turned up the volte / vowifi correctly. So far I used Redmi Note 4, Poco F1, Poco X3 Pro no problem

After major update, you might have to try enabling volte again with those code #*

Hi everyone,

I have an iPad Air 5th Gen (2022 Model) with 5G Cellular Network. I understand that TPG does not have any 5G network service supported yet for all the plans. (unless they're working on it ?)

I just subscribed to their 50GB SIM-Only Plan and I would like to ask if the network is able to support 4G Data for Apple iPad models ? Do I have to install TPG 4G Voice App also for my iPad, to use the network services?

Hopefully sooner TPG will announce their starting of 5G Networks support in Singapore, with TPG's mobile plans in the future? ..
So atleast my "2022 - 5G Cellular iPad" don't feel abit unless because it's 2022, getting stucked in 4G feels so "2013".

- Just joking ya don't take too serious

Thanks.

Yes, your iPad able to support the 4G data without installing the Voice App. If iPad able to install that voice app, that means u could even make VoLTE calls on your iPad. Not too sure about able to install on iPad as I had not tested before. Anyway, certain area in SG, TPG had 5G coverage.

The ipad air supports up to 5G networks, so 4G is no problem. 3G also can if worst case (but TPG does not have 3G networks).

UMTS is 3G.

the big three are slashing price on sim only too, sh and m is about 20$ with lots of data bundle. tpg strategy is total different; they do not have hotline, the only way to get support is thru online, which takes hours or a day before u get attended. there isn't a portal where u can manage all lines like the other 'real' telcos; adding more talk time, adding other services, etc, this cannot be done without sending email and perhaps there isnt any option to do so as their packages are rather basic and type of services are limited.

obviously this is how tpg planned to run their business to keep the price low. but this also limited the way consumer use the tpg sim, most are using it as an add on and not for main purpose. for me, OTP does not even work well, sometimes come, sometimes not. but this is the kind of service i would expect for this price and would live with it.

perhaps tpg plan was never to replace the big three, just targeting the 'extra line' market.

one thing i felt confident about tpg is they will likely not have 5g sim in the next 1yr or 2. their current sim is 4g rated and moves about 1-4mbps, m1 on 4g moves about 70-100ish mbps. there is clearly a big gap in between and looking at how they position themselves, they are definitely not vying for superiority amongst other telcos, but only in the 10$ expectation markets.

its the most cost effective choice for data at this moment, not fast, but works.

What does #* suppose to do?
Seem to enable VOLTE directly on Google pixel 6 now without having to use their 4G app

i seen other ppl's post tpg speed test *FB etc ... varies from 40-70 mbps.. depends on the location... i dont it is 1-4mbps which is not even 4g speed nor enough for youtube videos

yes im using xiaomi for my tpg line. maybe i need to change simcard. but the tpg is getting too long to get back to me. asking me to pm them on fb but no reply. lol.
Maybe now you can try put tpg sim on different SIM slot and delete APN and set again, then use code *#*#86583#*#* to enable/disable volte

If still cannot, try the tpg sim on others phone, make sure APN also set correctly
