MY CELCOM roaming is using TPG/SIMBA.
EE UK / Vodafone UK is using Orange France.
U can be roaming ready with SIMBA side but not Orange France side though.
This is why I'm still not ready to rely 100% on data roaming on SIMBA (or any other carrier for that matter) & would rather get a local SIM card. The roaming on SIMBA to be fair, has been a decent fallback option, esp during the time before I clear customs to get the local SIM card.
IMHO.
@ LHR, the mobile can pick up EE / vodafone UK, O2-UK, 3 Uk and 23432. Just that cannot connect to it.
next stop is testing @ JFK, hope it works.

Agree. Just that in my case, it is not a fallback option as it wasn't even connecting.
Maybe some configuration error.

As long as it's good enough for texting, Google Maps and Grab, i think people won't hiam already.
Mom was in Melaka last week, and she couldn't get it to work. But because I passed her my Digi card, she put it in. Had the sense that she didn't have data so I bought her 1 day's to test, and sure enough - SIMBA roaming didn't work so well for her.
If you discover that you have a network problem, seeking help from Simba technical support, please provide screenshot, no picture no case and no entertain, no further investigation will carry out, full-stop.

There's an app, currently free on the Google Play Store, that gives detailed connectivity information to your cell tower. Recommend Android users to download and install quickly, even if they don't have to use it atm (since it's free for now, add it to the account first - can always redownload in future once you've "bought" the app previously.) iOS is out of luck as Apple locks down the hardware.
I used to use the free version, but they made the paid version free for a few days.

The same error message @ LHR - "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network".
User is now in another state further inland, and has the same error message.
Now for the plot twist.
User put the Simba into a Samsung S22Ultra and voila, can connect to AT&T and now it is working.
The previous phone was a Samsung Note10+ - maybe it was an Exynos ?
Update - I checked the model for the Note10+, it is supported on AT&T.

User put the Simba into a Samsung S22Ultra and voila, can connect to AT&T and now it is working.

Update - I checked the model for the Note10+, it is supported on AT&T.
I suspect it's because of lack of AT&T VoLTE in the carrier profile, plus the device might not be able to switch from SIMBA/Unknown to Orange France.

Just to share, the S22Ultra, upon connecting to AT&T, the following APNs are added but TPG was selected.
Orange - Orange
Orange enterprises - orange-mib
TPG - TPG ( selected )
Internet Enterprise - Internet Enterprise
Orange F IMS - ims
Orange F VoWifi - vowifiorange
The S22 Ultra is on 4G and travelling across the state, at times, the 4G can be spotty. I checked the AT&T coverage map and apparently, most are listed as 5G with few 4G. My "theory" could be the older Note10+ finds it challenging to log onto 4G although, for AT&T, info off the net, is sort of backwards compatible.

If the APN selected is Orange instead of TPG, is the connection better?
AT&T USA has been refarming 3G/LTE spectrum for 5GNR, plus US network bands is very different from APAC/EURO bands.
There's some bands that they use that are incompatible with most Asian/European phones, especially when it comes to low-band.
IMHO.So, I guess that my S22 should be "problem free" as far as SIMBA roaming connection is concerned when travelling overseas then!
Now in US, the S22Ultra got no connection....

This is damn weird, my friends had zero connection issues on S20 / iPhone XS when on Orange France - AT&T throughout the 1.5-2 months exchange.
Just came back yesterday.

Yes weird indeed. The same message "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network".
If it is poor network coverage, it should still be able to connect.
Did your friend have the Simba for quite a while before going overseas?
My Simba is less than 1 month old. Maybe not enough time to replicate.
It was working at the airport at that particular state but when move away, suddenly no connection.
