Currently in Australia now. The roaming is not working for me, not just data but there is no connection to any of the local telcos to even receive SMS. It was fine a few days back but not sure why the connection dropped out.

Any one know how to resolve it?
as usual, did you try to put to airplane mode? restart phone? pop sim card into another phone ?

I'm back to SIMBA again! :D 🤭

On 24/09/2022:

1300 hrs: Picked up a new SIMBA sim card.

2300 hrs: Ported-Out from previous MVNO.

2336 hrs: Ported-In to SIMBA with immediate activation.

0146 hrs: Roaming activated.

Super fast Port-out and port-in processes. Less than 40 minutes.

SIMBA package is still the best deal for me! I will stay with SIMBA for long!

Just gotten MY130 new number to try.

Terminate my 2 mobileshare on singtel to fund this card. Try the network coverage, strength and speed. If satisfactory, my main line will be ported as well. Singtel too expensive liao.

why didn't you port in mobileshare number to SIMBA? can retain your old number instead of getting new number

TPG's Australia roaming partner is Vodafone. Coverage is quite meh. I had problems with it connecting & even when I had connection, the speed was barely usable. I think a few people had reported similar experience.

I would suggest getting a local prepaid card. Telstra & Optus both have good coverage in most areas, but Telstra is probably a little better in the super ulu outback areas. If you remain within the major cities, either is fine. If you want fuss free, go to Telstra or Optus's shop & they can get it set it up for you (you will need some form of ID, like your passport). For the cheapest options, the major supermarkets (Coles or Woolworths) carry a wide variety of prepaid cards from both telcos and MVNOs, usually with some great promos, but you will need to set it up yourself (usually with a credit card)

Optus is also partner in Australia.

On paper, yes. However, I could not connect to Optus with the SIMBA SIM, whether it was in a phone, or a mobile WiFi. It defaulted to Vodafone & would not connect when I tried to manually select Optus. & yes, I was in a place with good Optus signal (my Optus prepaid card was working fine) & yes, I had tried all the usual troubleshooting steps & yes, I have been using my line in Singapore for more than a month before the AU trip.

getting aorplane mode rather often lately...
Where did you get it? Which area?

My area, around Aljunied MRT - Geylang- Paya Lebar MRT is fine since day one!

*Note: I first joined SIMBA was back in July 2022. I returned to SIMBA again 2 days ago.

BTW,

It has been more than 1.5 days since my sim card was activated but my network logo is still showing TPG, and not SIMBA at press time!

Any reason why?

Same brand, as long as roaming works, who cares.

Mine went from TPG Singapore to SIMBA then back to TPG Singapore again recently lol

Kisiao one lol... 🤭

Anyway, TPG logo looks more atas than SIMBA logo.. :D
Actually I like the TPG logo more too
Sadly Vodafone AU wants the TPG SG arm to be removed cos it's seen as a speculative investment, and 3 year transition period is almost up
